Morning ladies and Gents,

I'm looking for some help and advice really, what type of vitamins should I look at taking. I'm more then likely going to go Holland & Barrett in the next few days so just want to know what I can take.
Cheers.

Holland & Barrett :banghead: Amazon is usually a lot cheaper

You dont say what sort so will give you mine, others will differ, I spent a while doing research and this Is what I came up with, not the cheapest but fairly good value....

These are the vits Diabetics can be short of B12 ,Zinc, D3, Magnesium and Omega 3

So I got a good multi and filled in the gaps with the rest...... if pushed I would just go with the multi and the Omega 3

http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00SO0BTAI/ref=s9_dcbhz_bw_d20_g121_i1_ps

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Solgar-Omega-3-Triple-Strength-Softgels/dp/B000NI6WHY?ie=UTF8&psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o03_s00

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Solgar-Formula-VM-75-Â-Tablets/dp/B000VYX9IA?ie=UTF8&psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o04_s00

All these got very good results, beware the cheapies, for instance the B12 I was taking was about 2% of the recommended amount .............

You could get the doc to test for all these as you may get all you need thru diet alone , but I just take them anyway to be on the safe side , your body will pee out any it does not use anyhow .............

P.S. You can get all these at H and B , just pricier ...

Cheers Jase, just looking for pointers really as not sure what I would be short of. Forgot about Amazon so thanks will be way cheaper.
Think a bit of research is needed then and prehaps when I sit down with my GP in a few weeks discuss with him.
Thanks

I would of thought even with a good diet we would miss something. I have a poor immune system so want to boost it if I can to help fight virus and infections off , or at least help fight it off. so anything that helps I'm willing to try.
Cranberry tablets, what do they do if you don't mind as I use to drink cranberry juice but now can't so if it offers a better nutrialal value I may invest.

Its a minefield mate , I sat down to do some research thinking it would be a simple google search and ended up at it for weeks :banghead:

The main things were daily % which I mentioned, but also what sort of vit (some are better than others) ie 3 different types of magnesium , purity (fish oil in particular) how its made (fish oil again)....

The main thing is that a fair amount for sale out there really is nowhere near what you need to take to make a difference , so no point really.....

have fun

Haha sounds more of a headache then I thought to be fair and if I'm not going to get the value from it prehaps then maybe just see how I go with diet. I briefly looked and there are so many "experts" advice it is confusing hence why I asked. Have to rethink it.
Thanks again, appreciate it.

Dont blame you mate :) but that Solgar VM75 is a good multi, by the reports and not too pricy , maybe just get that as a bit of a top up....

Hi. I'm not aware of any vitamins that are specifically proven or even 'known' to help with diabetes. I do take multivitamins as an insurance policy for general health but I suspect they are a waste of time.

If someone drinks alcohol, smokes or takes pain killers - or two of them or all three - then a well balanced diet isn't enough.

If you choose to follow a lchf diet it may be worth considering that it can lead to a deficiency in minerals ( calcium, sodium, magnesium and potassium) due to frequent urination. Deficiency in the last two can actually cause heart problems and these deficiencies won`t show up immediately. I suppose it`s really all down to diet, best of luck whichever one you choose:).
