Hi guys. I'm originally from London, but me an my partner bought a house in Harlow, Essex and moved up here. Since then my son has been diagnosed type 1. Just wondered if there were any other parents around in the same area?

Hi we have lived in essex for just over 6 years and are originally from London. My daughter was diagnosed type 1 in 2013. I am also type 1. We live in Colchester but are looking at moving back to London as I have had to be referred to a specialist consultant in London for my diabietes cos essex cannot fund what I need a CGM plus the hospital here is terrible especially the diabetes dept and have had a bad experience with them.

Oh no that's not good to hear. Not nice when you get bad treatment. When my son was in hospital, I found them so laid back and really mish mash with everything they were suppose to do. Didn't find the care as adequate as I thought it should of been.

I know of Colchester, a little out from harlow though :) but essex is huge!

Yes you have to keep on at them otherwise they don't bother, i just found the hospital staff very rude an arrogant thought they were always right, then i used to get different diabetic nurses telling you to do things different like contridicting one another. I never see the same diabetic nurse twice i was forever explaining myself over and over.
