I am currently trialling the libre have started today. I was told that it may take about 24 hrs before the reading on my glucose machine will be similar to the reading on my sensor is this correct? At the moment just done a scan and it was 7.8 that's brilliant I thought but I felt like I was high duo done a blood test and I am 15.3 so have done a correction. Now I am thinking should I have done a correction or should I have just left it?

I think your decision was correct, but did you do another blood test to double check the 15.3 reading?

Sensors can take 24-48 hours to settle down, so the reading of 7.8 may not be correct.

For the Libre you need to check the arrows, if BG is rapidly rising or falling then Libre will under/over read respectively until it sees the glucose rise in the interstitial fluid. As an example if I am hypo and treat with dextrose I know that Libre will take 10-15 minutes to show a rise so I will do a BG test after 5 mins to check that the BGs are on the rise.
