hey beautiful people so yesterday was up at diabetic clinic (hospital) first appointment there fasting as per GP instructions blood sugar dropped from 20.9 to 2.9 in a hour have to say the nurses were lovely i had 2 cups of tea 2 digestives and 1/2 scone (yeah the dietician laughed as well) so have been told my health is real bad my body is refusing to accept the insulin and metformin i've put about 2 stone in 2 months as a result i'm no longer producing my own insulin and im in such poor health a pump my body could reject a pump as ya can all imagine lots of tears im so lost and why the heck have i allowed my health to get to this point new specialist said that unless dramatic changes are made i may not see the rest of the year even said that i could get weight loss surgery no guarantee of me making it through talk of a denav its a blood sugar meter that the company help ya set up and basically every time u check (breakfast/lunch/dinner/bed) the meter will tell you how much insulin ya gotta take i have to wait up to 2 weeks for a assessment to see if i qualify but ill keep y'all updated on that so i then went to see the dietician and long story short im fluffed and have to stop the damage now and long term so have been placed on a 1900 calories per day if doing any form of walking etc as instructed to by them i have to still ensure 1900 calories and 240 carbs per day broke down of 80 carbs breakfast/lunch/dinner or if i want snack i can but i take off 20 carbs say mid morning and mid afternoon and i use them for snacks i know i can feel ya eyes meltin my head was i can tell yall.
breakfast consisted of 78g carbs cereal and 2 white toast
lunch was homemade lentil&veg soup and 2 wraps with chicken/bacon/lettuce/cucumber/peppers/mushroom/red onion and squirt of mayo
im not gonna tell what my dinner is yet as havent ate it hehehe

****** news, sure.
I recommend just turning Vegan for a month - watch your sugars/intake drop down loads. Also weight will drop while consuming the best foods known on earth - Vegetables.
As a type 1, I found dairy is the main problem for my sugars. I have spent months/years experimenting with different diets and things which affect sugars and when I was Vegan (I now eat steroid/anti biotic free meat twice a week) a lot more control and a lot healthier, more energy, happier moods.
nothing negative about it at all - apart from the 3 times a day toilet ;)

Don't quite understand all what you're saying, but I do understand you may be in a tizz about it all.

hopefully I've got this bit right though, so whilst you were there your BG level went from 20.9 down to 2.9 - ummmm......if your body isn't working the insulin then how did that happen???!

Hi carb Foods
i think by taken it for granted
there is an old one thas "ASSUME makes an ASS of U & ME", leave them to assume an we need to work out the answer. May be the brand of insulin that is causing the problems.
Mine was to shave the carbs from my diet andreplace them with enough healthy fats to stave off hunger.
Weaned me off my 22 basal & 3x 18 bolus!

I think the carbs in your diet are much too high. Give them a break for a couple of weeks and see if your levels stabilise. Are you testing yourself?

The Calorie level isn't high but the carbs are, what is their reason for this? Honestly I'd cut out or seriously reduce the carbs, by the sound of it you've got nothing to loose.
