A year ago, I didn't have Type 1 diabetes and I purchased annual multi-trip holiday insurance for my family for around £30. I've just tried to renew this and the computer said No......those with pre-existing medical conditions can sod off. Any top tips on insurance providers for the afflicted?

I haven't got travel insurance for a couple years but last time I did I found Insure and Go were good - covered me for Winter Sports and were really helpful. I had been expecting to have to use a specialist insurer and was surprised that a bucket shop met my requirements.

Insure and go are a reliable company, my first experience of them was when I was diagnosed, I was travelling in Canada and ended up in DKA for first diagnosis of type 1. They were great, covered all bills, flights, prescription costs etc. In saying that the policy then was pre diabetes but I was very impressed with their services. I also used Spectrum recently, no issues.
