Good news, I don't have Peripheral neuropathy like it was thought

Bad news. I do have Meralgia Paraesthetica and also Carpal Tunnel Syndrome.

The pain in my thigh is insane.

I've been unabel to sleep for 2 days.

It's going to sound stupid but the feel of the sheet or blankets on my leg is agonishing but if I apply pressure the pain ease's.

I'll be going to try and find a compression bandage or something I can wear tomorrow but for tonight I might as well bang my head against the wall as its the only thing that will distract me long enough.

Sleeps out of the question.

Being Diabetic with its complications SUCKS

Doctor tried to say it was due to my weight when I pointed out that I've gone from a size 46 waist to a size 40 waist inside of 12 months he changed the subject.

This might sound weird but if pressure helps, you might try wrapping the leg in plastic cling wrap.

I tried it. It worked great until I had to walk any distance, then the wrap slipped, however even the limited time of relief it gave was appreciated so Thank you. Seriously it helped you have no idea how much even 10 minutes was a relief.

I am glad it helped you. I have severe psoriasis and have spent a lot of time slathered in petroleum jelly and wrapped up in cling wrap like the mummy. It looks weird but oh the relief. I highly recommend it to anyone with severe plaque psoriasis. Leave it on overnight and it will take you down to fresh pink new skin with no bleeding, and its cheap.

Out of interest -have you only had pain since your weight loss? Or have you been suffering for more than 12mths without a diagnosis?
I'm asking as I've never been pain free since my weight/shape changed.

Oh dear, you have my sympathy. I just looked it up and it sounds hellish.

Personally, I would be getting a second appt/opinion with a chiropractor - since it involves nerve compression. They can often do stuff for the sciatic nerve when docs just shrug and prescribe pain killers. And I had fantastic relief from a trapped nerve in my shoulder from a chiro.

No, the pains only been for the past 3 months in both my hand and my thigh. I moved from Suffolk to Cumbria and the people who were originally going to help me move let me down so I had to rent a 3 ton van and load it myself with a lot of help from the OH. When we were unloading I trapped my hand between the fridge and the freezer so I just assumed the pain in my finger tips was just a deep bruise. Then I went to see the nurse at the new surgery and it got mentioned and she insisted that it could be diabetic complications and insisted I see the doctor who runs the diabetic clinic at the surgery. he diagnoised Carpal Tunnel and has referred me to a specialist to see what can be done.

I put the pain in my leg down to the climbing into the loft of the old house and the acrobatics that were involved in the move but again the nurse insisted I see the doctor which is when he diagnoised the horrible sounding condition that I really can't be bothered to type again :)

As for my weight Loss I LOVE low carbing I've gone from a size 46 waist down to a size 40 waist in 12 months and I'm still losing weight :)`
