In South Africa, there is a deposition hearing currently underway against Professor Tim Noakes a leading LCHF specialist for professional misconduct after tweeting about the benefits of the LCHF diet in youngsters. That thread itself is fascinating and I would recommend anyone interested in finding out why we are where we are today in terms of government health guidelines, and the LCHF approach to read that thread.

Professor Noakes runs a research foundation and one of its aims is to try to raise LCHF across the world. To that end it has requested that anyone who has followed a LCHF diet to provide some personal statistics that can be added to the database.

http://www.thenoakesfoundation.org/contact-us If you press the link "participate in studies " at the bottom it takes you to a google forms link.

I have completed this myself as did a number of other people via that thread. All it asks for is the relevant data that we all focus on here, and you can fill in as much as you know if there are gaps. If anyone would like to contribute, they can find the link here

https://docs.google.com/forms/d/15u...edit_requested=true&fbzx=-3438774437199129356

Given the many success stories of the diet for many of the people on here, and the continued lack of understanding in the media and in public health guidelines, it seems to me that trying to make sure we each do the utmost we can to try and further the message publicly and help reduce the numbers of people being left in the lurch by poor eating guidelines on diagnosis.

Professor Noakes is an extremely well known figure and his testimony is currently putting the entire foundation of the current eating guidelines of the South Africa and by extension the world under a severe telescope.

Please take the time to take a look and see if you would like to participate.
Thank you

I have just attempted to do it and unfortunately my internet went down as I was on the very last bit, I will try again this afternoon.

Even if you don't identify your diet as 'Banting' and have never heard of Tim Noakes, if you are following a LCHF diet and have achieved success, please do as @CherryAA suggests. This courageous man is making a stand for all of us, at great personal cost, emotionally, financially and professionally. He deserves our support. The outcome of this trial will reverberate around the world.

There are a lot of doctors that are very positive about it, including my own, in the circumstances the fact that a doctor can be effectively tried for promoting it is very strange, but the fact that is is happening right now, suggests that there is still a long way to go in getting it accepted into the mainstream.

By way of bumping @CherryAA 's thread into the collective consciousness of the members I'd like to post a link to a clipping from the S Africa media detailing the excellent result for Prof Tim Noakes in what must have been a harrowing time. I hope further threads will emerge explaining what this total hero has done in the name of LCHF.
I further declare today Tim Noakes Day!!

At last! Professor Noakes was found not guilty of 'misconduct' by the courts. Both the HPCSA (health professionals) and the ADSA (dieticians) ended up looking like fools. One unintended consequence was the unprecedented publicity LCHF (or Banting as the South Africans call it) got. Now it's time for Gary Fettke of Tasmania to get the same results! Dieticians worldwide should get off their high horse and look at REAL evidence based practices of LCHF - or will their masters Coca cola, PepsiCo, Kellogg's Unilever et al not allow them to do that?
