A little 4yr. old girl having to undergo an amputation and nobody sure of her future.

Her diabetes signs were not picked up and she is now in intensive care.

Her father stated, "she was thirsty a lot and peed a lot". He and his wife did not realize the implications of these cardinal symptoms of Type 1 and her medical providers never asked. "She lost her leg because nobody knew about it. She was right on the brink of losing everything".

how sad for that poor little girl. I do understand the implications of diabetes but must amit that I didnt think complications like that could happen so quickly. :(

Looks like the free health care arrived too late for her. Would her parents have taken her to see someone earlier if they knew they wouldn't have to pay?
