Mixed grill

I took my wife out for a Valentine's Day the first time I have eaten out since being told I'm diabetic I had the mixed grill and a pint of diet coke 2 hrs after the meal I did my bloods and there a 6 I didn't eat all the chips but I'm really happy now with the result is a 6 ok for what I had ? I haven't been told much about my diabetes yet seeing Dr on the 8th March

That's a good reading @Tessmc anything under 8.5 2 hours after eating is fine. Ideal figures to aim for are:-
Fasting under6.9
Before meals 4-7
2 hrs after under 8.5

A tip for you. If you check your level prior to eating and 2 hours later it hasn't risen by more than 2.0 then you have chosen well and have good control.

The key is to keep the spikes to an absolute minimum and under +2.0 above you starting level is regarded as where we all need to be.

I have been type 1 for 10 years and noticed in the first 4/5 years I could get away with things a bit more than now. But yeah good on you
