Hello
I'm hoping for some suggestions/recommendations on Life Insurance Cover for Diabetics. I am buying my first home this year and have been advised that to be able to get my mortgage i will need life insurance.
Having looked on the usual sites on Google it has become apparent i can only get quotes for a 'normal healthy person'. I have read that if i apply to one and get refused it could go against me in applying for another and also to expect high payments
I'm a Type 1 and have been for 17 years and I am 23. However i haven't had the best control over the years (my own doing-teenage rebelling and trying to ignore the fact i had Diabetes for a while) and had a HbA1c of 103 this time last year . Having knuckled down and completing a DAFNE course i have managed to get it down to 80 but this is still high and i am worried this will go against me .I have also found out that i have developed mild background retinopathy in my eyes in the past year (it has been a stressful diabetic year).
Back to my original question(sorry) can anyone recommend any Life Insurance Providers they have had luck with and managed to get approved from (at a fair rate preferably). I am sure i cant be the only Type 1 Diabetic getting a mortgage.
Thanks Chloe
