Hi @spook_kate_ - I suffer with Osteoarthritis in my knuckle joints, so when I started getting aches/pains in my fingers I thought perhaps the Osteoarthritis had started there which is what prompted me to see my GP a few weeks ago, and it was suggested to increase pain relief.
The Doctor I saw (on Wednesdaty) told me that I can have just 1 more Steriod Injection in my hand in one month's time.
Today I have experienced less pain and the severity of pain is not so intense, so I can 'exercise' my hand much more now.
Thank You for your kind words :).

You're so welcome @Liam1955, this is why I love this forum, there's always someone along with kind words, a simple humane gesture that lifts our spirits and makes each day happier. My poor gran has osteoarthritis and suffers badly so full sympathies. Touch wood, each day gets better for you. Funny enough my forefinger next to my trigger one has wear n tear arthritis, doc couldn't explain why. Oddity. Take care

Bring on the rain!
The thermometer showed 34 degrees on my patio at 3.30 this afternoon. That's not even funny any more.
I don't mind during the day, because we have thick walls and stone floors which keep the ground floor relatively cool, but the last few nights have been dreadful. The heat rises into the bedrooms so they are sweltering, and even with all the windows and doors open it doesn't escape. I have a fan either side of the bed and a plant mist spray filled with cold water to squirt, plus a cold shower before going to bed and another if I wake during the night. And after all that I wake up even more exhausted than before I went to bed!
It forecast to be cooler tomorrow in S Glos - down to 20 degrees - and with a possibility of some rain. :)

Thank You @dukidoll for your kind words on Good Morning Thread. :)
Not complaining about the Rain, as we definitely need it to fill our 4 water butts and the garden gets a good drink also.
The Steroids worked on my hand, after a few days my fingers were back to working as 'normal'!!
Only side effect is Steroids have raised my Blood Sugars and had to increase my Insulin.
Will find out my HBA1C tomorrow at Diabitic Review?
Been anywhere nice recently?

My OH was diagnosed end of September 2016 after a routine medical at work showed high bg so he went to docs and had Hba1c of 90, dropped to 50 at 6 months.

I was diagnosed end of March 2017 after going to docs about bad night cramps and having blood test, my Hba1c was 111:oops:.
I am going tomorrow for 3 month blood test & seeing diabetes nurse next Wednesday for results.

We are both on Metformin x 2, Alan has gone sugar free as much as poss & I've cut right down on carbs too.

So we're both new to it atm and still learning. :)

I shall remind you :). And really hope you get the Injection there and then! (Will cross my fingers for you).
I am thinking? It could be because I suffer with the Osteoarthritis in my hands that I got the Steriod Injections.

@heh - Your Hubby's HBA1C is brilliant at 50 = Well Done to him. And I would expect yours to have come right down also.

Deal could be alright but more than likely your doctor is more switched on :grumpy:

We're not self testing but I'm going to speak to the nurse about it.

The Nurse will probably tell you not to test! But, you really should be, a Blood Glucose Meter is the most important piece of a Diabetics equipment and it is vital for you both to keep a check on your Blood Sugars.
Having a meter allows you to see what effect foods have on your Blood Sugars each and everyday, and will give you much tighter control.
There are 2 popular meters used by members on this Forum as they are considered the cheapest - I can provide you with the sites to have a look.

28/6 - Good Afternoon Folks :). It has not stopped rating since I got up at 6am!! Next we will be having Floods with the 2 Rivers bursting their banks, that York is nestled in between.
Cannot see the point in leaving home 'early' to get to my Hospital Diabetic Appointment with 5 minutes to wait. Only to be called in 30 minutes past my Appointment:(. And be in the Consultation Room not even 15 minutes!!!
Anyway, I thought my HBA1C would be up = but only slightly from May (65) it's now 68. my Cholesterol remains the same as May 3.9. Ferritin (Iron) Count up to 19(from 13).

But, I see the Liver Specialist on the 31st July, and having my Bloods done the week before, so this gives me a month to get my HBA1C down a bit.
No lunch today, going to see Parents-in-Law at 2pm'ish and eat a slice of Birthday Cake with Coffee. Out for meal at 5pm have got table booked for the Birthday Boy and its my treat:smug:.

Hope you are all having a good day :). William x
