Came across this the other day as I was browsing my shopping. Not tried it yet but as well as sugar free it's vegan ... I paid 99p each for the last 10 bars. RRP £2.95.... thought it was worth the risk being xylitol . .
Be very careful if you have a dog as chocolate is bad and xylitol is fatal.

Thank you for the heads up. I've got 4 German Shepherds, only one of which lives in the house. We rescue & rehome them so pretty well up on the goods & bads.
It's nice to know other people are food savvy too.
Thanks

Thanks for that. But I stay away from all grains low GI and gluten free. I feel much better with out. Even if it doesn't spike my BG
I might try a bit of coconut flour and see.
I'm always substituting things. If it works I do it again, if not was worth a try. I imagine you won't need as much coconut flour.....

@Sable_Jan

I think there are beans of some sort hiding beneath the mash!

Today:

B: Egg on toast

L: Tofu sausage sandwich

D: Squash & red lentil hot pot, with veg

I also had a melon-based smoothie in the afternoon, whilst basking in the sun

B: golden milk

L: veg juice - this one had beetroot in it - said to be good for blood pressure

D: BBQ! @Ledzeptt predicted the sun would come back so we made the most of it. New sausage today was Taifun barbecue sausage with a skoosh of sriracha mayo, farmfoods burger, smoked tofu strips, garlic mushrooms, coleslaw etc. Swedish Glace for pudding because it's summer.

Fairly ordinary food at present e.g. today:

B: Muesli

L: Cheese & onion toastie

D: Bean stew. Strawberries.

Snacks: Peanuts. Chocolate bar when BG running low.

I'm going to have a supper as not enough calories today; unsure what.

The courgette patch is about to go bananas so lot of courgetti on the way. Late harvest this year due to patchy weather.

Thanks @Avocado Sevenfold - I'm "up and down", with the downs not too bad, but frequent. I'm still waiting to see my consultant- appointment at the end of next month. I saw my GP to get the new meds, but he scared me from taking them (long term side effects)! I'm resisting switching to a low residual diet for now, for practical reasons; depends what the consultant says.

I've tried some of @Odin004's protein powder added to smoothies a couple of times. A good way to increase protein/cake without impacting carb intake. I may have a smoothie tonight instead of a "proper" meal as my stomach's off/sore today.
