Why products are so tasteless?

I think you have no idea what you are talking about. If Roquefort is salty for you, I suppose it is you who need to check your mouth and nose. As clearly mention in this serious link: https://www.fromages.com/en/fromage/36-roquefort Roquefort is SLIGHTLY salty.

Definitely roquefort is far from salty cheese. It gives me the impression that some people here haven't tasted anything apart from the tasteless stuff supermarkets have. Has anyone tried genuine halloumi? It is extremely salty and it has nothing to do with the Tesco halloumi, which I bought recently.

And it's really ridiculous to keep up with the taste buds being wrong etc.

different people taste things differently. And yes, i have tried and enjoyed a vast selection of cheeses from around the world. As you seem determined to both negate any suggestion, and insult those trying to help you, I am bowing out of this.

I like Roquefort but I suggested it based on this article where out of a test of 722 cheeses from around the world Roquefort had the most salt. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/health-20524931
Actually basing the quality of cheese on its salt content is to miss the wonderful subtlety and complexity of cheese. Personally I don't like Halloumi, salty it may be but otherwise it is bland which it is why it is often in oil and herbs to give it some flavour.

Rocquefort was the saltiest tasted:

And yes, I know what I'm talking about. I've tasted both genuine Roquefort and genuine Halloumi.

It's YOU who keep going on about Tesco. Why don't you try other shops or delis?

Are you sure? Why when I ask at tesco's cheese counter they look each other as if I asked them for a rocket?
I think theres a simple truism that you get what you pay for - the cheese counter at supermarkets, be it Tesco's, sainsburys lidls etc is a place to buy cheap cheese and you get whet you pay for -the same is true the world over. I have had some of the best and worst oils / olives / cheese from shops in Europe - guess what, the worst nearly always comes from supermarkets

I don't agree @badcat , we've had some great tasting cheeses bought from supermarkets, the quality of which is comparable to that found in specialist cheese farms/shops.

Same way in USA with some products most are ok.

I am struggling to comprehend this post.
Same way in USA: same as what? products being not tasty?
Some products most are ok: some products are ok or most? and the above is true (products being not tasty) how can most be ok?

Does it really matter? If products are tasteless, add something tasty to the meal.

she is replying to @badcat

now, are you going to start actually testing foods, not only cheese, but the wealth of tasty foods out there, or just keep dismissing everything suggested and nitpicking about the wording of posts?

Since I gave up smoking 25 years ago, I can taste the most delicate of flavours in food. Magic what a clean palate and taste buds do for your eating enjoyment.

We seem to be wasting our breath trying to convince the OP, I bet he / she smokes tobacco and the taste buds are jaded.

I have never smoked anything, why are you trying to convince me that my taste buds are not working?
