4 days in and still a newbie. Yet another question for you guys. Recently started metmorfin as a reading of 44 and said I was pre diabetic. Today I pay a visit to my surgery to ask them for a printout of my last blood results and they told me yes bit a doctor has to sign it off. Lady disappeared for ten mins came back and said the doctor she saw was also a diabetes specialist and wants to see me tomorrow for a double appointment as thinks maybe I should not be taken metformin
My dilemma is that after five days of talking this med I feel great. No more night sweats headaches and wc visits and much much more energy. No feeling tired. It's doing me good is what I want to say:)) can i insist I still stay on thus kind of med to see how I go or don't I have a say in the matter. Oh it's also helping alot to suppress my appetite which I need as 162 kilos. Any info would be greatly appreciated. The is

Hi @Dazzy1 If you feel Metformin is doing you good, I would suggest that you write down the points in your last paragraph and relay these to the Doctor. If you are making dietary changes, there is a good chance that your next blood tests could be at non-diabetic levels, so the Doctor might suggest that medication is not required.

If you have any kidney issues then the Doctor might want you off Metformin for this reason.

Metformin doesn't normally work that quickly, especially at lower doses. It accumulates in your body, so it takes a while to kick in properly. I doubt it was the reason you were feeling so much better, although stranger things have happened.
Anyway, good luck with the appointment. Let us know how you go on.

Thanks for the advice Much appreciated. I'll talk to my doctor and she what she comes up with. I did think the meds worked though rather quickly. Could be in my mind I guess. :))
