I think the lower the better.. but you need to make sure you are not having many hypos.. if you are having highs and lows then your hba1c reading doesn't tell the true story. A good hba1c only means less or little diabetes damage if you don't have many swings
As I said earlier I don't have many hypos and excellent numbers. no swings.

Couldn't agree with maggieatansfield more!!!! I'm 20 years down the line and have very good control but for a while I let it take over my life, I was obsessed, the libre didn't help with this. I've since went back to good old finger pricking and with an hba1c of 41 I'm enjoying life and my 2 healthy children again. I also need to add at this point that I try my best to eat good but I do love my carbs and as long as you can get your calculations right then life is for living!!! And btw I don't always get it right, just try my best x

43 (6.1 %) up from 41 (5.9 %). Was told off about the 41 because apparently it's impossible to have that average without me hiding lows...even while wearing a CGM, so nurses were happy I've gone up a bit.

My HBA1C yesterday was 10.6, same as it was about 3 months ago, which was a bit disheartening as I'd really been trying to done some blood tests.

5.0 with the last 1.5 months using the libre with a couple of dodgy sensors reading too low. Libre predicted HbA1c would be 4.2 :-(

Delighted to get 4.8% or 29 on my last test. I have really been struggling with my control - recently in the mornings I can't seem to get my numbers up no matter what I do (turn off pump for hours, no IOB, no exercise, eating food - just couldn't make it go up) followed by highs in the afternoon. Last time my endo told me to get my HbA1c up a bit from 4.6 since it was almost too good and she was worried about hypos - pleased to report that not only did I increase the number, but I have not had a proper hypo (<3.9) in ages! Not too happy with my quality of life at the moment, but I'm trying my best and I'm glad my results reflected that.

Being diabetic..
Mine.. Wasn't good.
This prompted a lengthy and thorough ass beating from my specialist.
On the bright side though, I'm now living on a diet of budgie food and walnuts, which should improve things no end. I'll be a skellybob next time I see him.
