Constant eye bleeds

I was diagnosed with proliferative diabetic retinopathy in June. Since then I had laser on my left followed by a large haemorrhage which has taken all this time to clear and left with floaters which a surgeon is watching to see if he needs to operate to help take the blood away.
I've also now has bleeds on my right and laser treatment 2 weeks ago.
I'm not back at the eye clinic for another 4 weeks.
I've had another large bleed in my left today and keep having smaller bleeds in my right.
I know laser might cause some bleeds but should this be happening 2 weeks after the laser? Or is this from where the laser wasn't able to be done (due to too much blood pooling in my eye)
Should I be contacting the clinic? They told me not to go in for each bleed but I'm worried. I've already taken a lot of time off work as I wasn't able to drive and this last bleed today has set me back further

Please help!

Hi I'm in the same situation, newbie to forum,, I've had massive bleed in right eye, very scary been type 1 for 25 years and first time I've had eye trouble. Very little advice or explanation from ophthalmologist. I've got laser booked on Wednesday and am very dubious of what to expect.
Does anyone know of the injections they can give to stop the bleeds?. Thanks

Hi

It’s been 4 months since posting this and I’m going for what I hope is my final laser on 13 th.

Once the bleed happened I had frequent bleeds in both eyes until the laser treatment had happened enough to start to stop them. It’s taken 4 months because you have to wait 6 weeks after each laser until more can happen.

I agree I wasn’t given any of this information at the time and my expectations were so wrong. But I also didn’t ask. Didn’t know what to ask to be honest.

My diabetic team were a brilliant help and reading the links that have been sent to you.

Good luck with your treatment. Mines gone well. I’ve got my sight back and been cleared to drive by the dvla. All positive.

I have been through this some 20 years ago and was sent for laser treatment for both eyes and i think i still hold the record for the amount of laser treatment. The treatment is to burn little tiny blood vessels at the back of you eye but when they burst all you can see is the blood and then they may do a op which invoves you being a sleep and then they take fluid out of your eye but this all depends on how much blood there is. after my first op my vision was just the same a did another two op on the right eye and also the left now after 20 years my eyes are stable and the doctor i see said if i had not had the treatment that i would have been blind. It also cut short my football as heading the ball could cause another bleed.

Hi I have had lots of Lazer and it’s not that bad they will give you anaesthetic drops which help and if it gets to much for you they will add extra drops x

Take painkillers before the laser that helps. My first time for laser it wasn’t horrific. Had no time to think about it so no time to work myself up. What I can say is that in the grand scheme of things it’s quick. Drops go in to numb. You put your head in a machine like the ones they use to look at your eye and the laser is bright. I’m now in discussions about injections with them but know no more I’m afraid. Good luck and remember it’s all for the better good.
