Morning all, 6.9 at 7am, forgot to post. I'm trying to decide whether to try and see my GP re pain. If I go they will probably chuck stronger opioids! Do I really want to be zombified for Christmas! But in view of the fact I have to wait till the 11th Jan for my steroid injection should I just go?? I normally take as few tablets as I can get by on as I don't like feeling "drugged". Sorry to go on, but I'm getting to the point of no return!!
Hi@paula121s Your having a bit of a battle at the moment, but you cannot hope to get through Christmas until January appointment without some pain relief, get them before doctors close over Christmas and use them Has and when you need to. I used to do this myself when I had a flare up at least you have something to take better than the alternative? Hope you get through next few weeks has pain free Has is possible!! K

Hi @paulus1 just read an article on British miracle man Daniel Darkes who has not had insulin since 2016 December. He was going to give some media company an interview but I haven't looked this up, he was type1 diabetic. Would need to read more about this they sent him to USA for special tests that where better than he could get in UK his pancreas regenerated itself, his artical is on ASweetLife.org site, I've saved it in my bookmarks but don't know how to send a link to this site? Or I would send it you!K
Just looked it up and it's already on this site diabetes.co.uk take a look!

Morning...still catching up from last week...off to work shortly...not looking forward to it...freezing...fog expected...and haven't had to dress properly for the last five/six days...mince tarts a plenty made last night for the office on Wednesday...liberally laced with Port Wine & Brandy...had to taste some (yes I had to;))...to my amazement woke to a 4.8...relieved is not the word!

I'd say go. Xmas can be stressful enough without having to deal with pain as well. It's better to have and not need painkillers than need and not have them. Also.. have you been referred to a pain clinic (good name for an S&M club)?. I recently was, and pain specialist did a review of condition, meds and improved things. Seems like with GPs, it's have some codeine, with the pain clinic, they've got a larger arsenal of pills and procedures to work with.

Oh, and BG=6.7

Thank you, I have decided to go as your right, if I have something stronger it’s better than not! I have been to the pain clinic. I’ve also been on a short pain course. I’m waiting to go on a intensive pain course run by Salisbury Hospital. Normally my flare ups only last a week or so, unfortunately this has been going on for a couple of weeks. I normally seem to be able to cope relatively well with them, but I think as it’s been so long I’m getting more tired which makes the pain feel worse...which in turn affects my sleep, chicken and egg problem!!
