Diabetic Retinopathy and Reactive Hypoglycemia

Can reactive hypoglycemia be a cause of diabetic retinopathy?

I have had spells where I just can't see. It only lasts seconds. There is no pain whatsoever.
I also have very dry eyes in the morning as if I slept with my contact lenses in.
Additionally, I suffer from aversions to brightness. The sun, my phone screen, my lamp, etc hurts my eyes and it never has before.
Could this be diabetic retinopathy? Even though I'm not diabetic, because I went undiagnosed for so long, and had a sugar addiction, could this have put me on a fast track to blindness? Is it possible for me to have this condition despite not being diabetic? Could I lose my vision permanently because I didn't know about my condition for 7 years?
Please help me.

We need an expert on this and taking it to a doctor is one way to get one.

From what I have learned Reactive Hypoglycemia is a condition of low blood sugar whereas Diabetes is one of high blood sugar and the one most likely to affect eyesight. Retinopathy is not a condition of intermittent blindness but of slow deterioration.

Your symptoms don't seem to add up. Definitely a case of a doctor's visit I feel.

Diabetic retinopathy only occurs in people with diabetes. There is a condition called amaurosis fugax which can cause transient, painless vision loss:- https://medlineplus.gov/ency/article/000784.htm If you experience this, should see your GP as soon as possible so it can be investigated.

This actually does help to an extent, and my low blood sugar is caused by a spike in blood sugar, it rises before it falls and for a long time, it went undiagnosed for 7 years where I consumed mostly sugary things from sodas to cakes, my body would tear through the sugar so fast that it would begin to eat itself. I have an appointment to see a specialist. My vision has gotten worse through today, I've seen flashes of black things which I thought were my cat till he came in from outside. My peripheral vision is completely disrupted, and fuzzy. Anything I'm not trying to focus on is fuzzy and my eyes have been tunnel visioning. I don't know what to do besides let it get worse till I see a doctor.

Is there an eye hospital near you with an A&E? (At other times of the year, I would say to do any opticians for advice.)
