I understand the shock, I was diagnosed T1 in Aug just before my 64th birthday. Don't worry though, this is the best forum ever for support. I don't know what I'd have done without everyone answering my questions

I registered on this site 2 years ago when I was diagnosed type 2, but have been super busy sourcing knowledge, trying to reverse this Condition (and no I haven’t as yet) I have read books been on courses, done the whole internet thing, but so far slow steps, my wife initially took over (with good intentions) to “fix me” but it has taken me a while to figure out that I have to do it for myself!!! I am looking for help with Literally what do you all eat and drink, especially for snacks in the uk, as I don’t have a clue what beef jerky is, lol

Hi All,

Just come out of hospital today after being told to go in as i was vomiting blood. They checked my blood sugar levels which were at 27 at the time then dropped to 19. I have been told i definitely have diabetes. they were EXTREMELY vague saying its most likely type 2 but as yet i have no answers.

I was quite frankly gobsmacked as VERY little information was given. Because i was released on a Sunday i didnt get referred to the diabetic clinic today but have been told i will be referred later.

I have absolutely no idea what i'm doing to be frank, came home at lunch time to my wife cooking a sausage sandwich and thought no, i'll be good and had baked potato with beans. looking it up no that was probably a BIG NO!

Looking through a few things on here i noted quite a few had suffered and not been diagnosed early and i have suffered from depression and anxiety for quite a few years with other symptoms which seem glaringly obvious now reading this and wonder how with such a simple test it can be diagnosed so quickly.

I was really ill since before Christmas now and had my bloods done many times at the doctors but this wasn't picked up, cant say im not a little angry but hey, at least i can now get it sorted.

I am looking for any advice for what to do, what to eat, what i may need, what to ask the doctor tomorrow. They had the strips and a machine to test my blood in the hospital, do i need one etc???

It's a bit overwhelming at the moment with having no information and any help would be greatly appreciated.
