Can I get PIP with diabetes

Hi folks I have just informed the dhss on change of circumstances and they have told me they will be sending forms out for PIP, and then sneakily said that I may not get it, there the one organisation that terrifies me, can anyone help if they have had any dealings with the dhss.

Thanks for the reply I do have other ailments as well as diabetes, I am right handed doesn't help with two fingers missing, plus I have scarring on both lungs I have difficulties breathing and getting about which my nurse as put me on a new inhaler on the market called umeclidinium I think I was a ginny pig for the drug does it help umm? Hard to say early days, years ago it was a points system 14 and over to qualify, and the swines always gave me 13.5 for my missing fingers, and now I have diabetes I have ingrown toenails and I cannot get treated so I wear slippers most of the time.sorry for woffaling

your diabetic make an appointment with the hospital foot folks your entitled to free treatment. dont think your missing fingers will get you anything. assuming your left hand works ok. the lung issue may depending how it impacts your ability to walk how far can you walk. if you could not get dla your really will struggle getting pip. im dreading the day the forms come through to switch.

PIP, is and can be very hard to get. Diabetes wise I would say no unless you can prove how it effects you.
I get care side for PIP because of my bipolar.
I have severe neuropathy in my feet, now I need a walking stick but that was ignored because I can walk the recommend distance.

I cannot see them awarding Pip for diabetes unless unable to walk, see or think normally.(loss of hypo awareness).

I applied for PIP a short while ago based on diabetes and depression.
My hypo-unawareness means I test every hour & can't go anywhere alone.
I've also got retinopathy quite badly in my left eye so struggle with my vision out of it.

I got declined, though.​

In short I will say no also. However still apply because you’re probably unable to give all the info that’s going on with you on here. I’ll tell you it’s a fight the only reason why I got it is because of my mental health issues like agoraphobia and because I have renal tubular acidosis type 1. So unless you can say how it affects you daily and that is backed up by a consultant chances are slim but you can take it to a tribunal. If you’re not under specialist care and can provide documentation ie their letters it’s even harder to get
