Morning all, 5.3 this morning - some scoreboard pressure in there I reckon but respectable. Holding steady this month at 5.3 overall, even though first 2 readings of the day need work, so a good start to build on for June review. Phase 1 gets a B

6.6 this morning at 7.30.The sun is shining here,at last,so I'm being persuaded to go out for a run in the car today.Secretly Mr Mac wants to try out the ramp just delivered!.......I could be in for an exciting time......must wash my hair(don't want to frighten the locals in my present state)....now which pair of sweat pants shall I wear today......decisions decisions!!
On a more serious note @ianpspurs I need to read more about cortisol and about fasting, there is so much to get my head round.Thankyou for your input,I'm so grateful for all the advice on here.G

I went to see my DN and the diabetic specialists I got some great ideas about intermittent fasting. If you want the info I can Dom it to you

@Glenmac Enjoy the ride you deserve some pleasure. The IF and cortisol issue is mainly a case of "being your own detective" (personal story with that mantra). Length of fasting and how much you eat at different times will affect people differently. I have broken my readings into averages for different readings so big fluctuations stand out.

good morning all :)

4.4 today

day based around home probably after a couple of days helping out at the local charity, nice that the sun is out this morning after the torrents of rain yesterday. Perhaps a bit of log shifting or garden trimming today if the ground is dry enough ;) have a good weekend everyone :)

Thankyou, more ideas would be very welcome......it's good to know that your diabetic team are so supportive of low carb.I haven't had much help from mine and so sometimes get disheartened.

Thankyou, yes I think I need to begin recording again,to get a more accurate picture of what's happening.Id hoped to get my DN and GP more onside but had to cancel blood tests and clinic last week, and they've given me my next appointment in three months time!
I've had excellent/amazing results from low carbing, but they refuse to give low carbing the credit.Instead they nod sagely and say" we always say diet is important"I hope to convince them that it's not their NHS diet, but probably need to slow down and take a few deep breaths!

Good morning all. Still dealing with the relapse of my cold/flu. My hubby got some cough suppressant from the drugstore, which unfortunately contains maltitol (I have read that maltitol is as bad as sugar in raising your blood sugar levels). Does anyone here have any experience with maltitol?

Blood sugars were 5.3 this morning.

Morning all. Back upwards to 7.9 at 9am. :( Nothing without carbs/ sugar to eat at a funeral wake yesterday so it must be the culprit. (Choice of sandwiches, sausage rolls, pork pies, quiche, crisps, potato wedges and cakes !!!). I know----I should have taken something more suitable with me. :banghead: Will do better now back at home. Have a good weekend one and all.:)
