@Jackie100 . Most cereals will usually result in a spike. This doesn't mean that they are off limits though

Pre bolusing as mentioned is the best way to smooth out the spike but having to wait that half hour or more first thing in the morning is not always convenient.
Oats and a bit of peanut butter is something I occasionally go for. A 15 min pre bolus and I manage to stay fairly flat.
Trial and error I guess.
