Hope you regain your vigour @karen8967 I know the feeling but it is the best kind of tiredness and I am always grateful I can do it. Those moments go too quickly and are beyond anything else I have experienced.
totally agree ian spent time with them over the weekend and today was totally unexpected i think the bond between grandchildren and grandparents is so special xx:happy:

@Granny_grump_ Sorry not to have posted for a while,it's been really full on here.Bob had two emergency ops both successful, but it's been a roller coaster for us.The second op was with the first surgeon operating and two others with appropriate specialisms,so we are very grateful that he is here, now home and slowly getting stronger.Weve cancelled holidays planned for our birthdays, but can look forward to one later in the year.Just glad he's looking brighter and his humour is still there. My leg is much improved, luckily and family and friends are fantastic.

@eggs11 and @DJC3 I too can sympathise with this and Eggs11, I too wonder which needs fixing first- which is the “leader” in the circle of menopause hormones, diabetes hormones, sleep, weight etc etc. They are all so interlinked. I’m trying to attack them all except weight -and weirdly at present that one is managing itself as a response to the new lchf and exercise regime- while most times it is miserable and (immediately)thankless , I know it’s for ever and I hope I get used to it lol

@flexi06 I sympathise and wrote a thesis earlier in this thread. You are so right they are interlinked. In my mind there is a nexus of sleep, diet, exercise, hydration and meditation/spirtuality/mindfulness. In terms of my simple understanding I can see that my body gears up to work for the day in the morning. Had I not compromised my ability to deal with the surge of glucose things would be fine. I now need to do moderate cardio exercise to use that potential fuel otherwise it will get stored and create further problems. Anyhow, them's my onionso_O

Yes @ianpspurs, you seem like a clever bloke- I like ur posts. I agree too and feel now like I had my time being excessive, and lazy and impulsive and doing what I liked with no care for this precious gift of an amazing human body. I damaged it with ignorance and now I have the chance to pay attention and heal it. I’m lucky I get the chance to. Not everybody does. I will get used to a more mindful and careful way of living and I’m glad I have a little gang who are sharing the journey. A long one may it be.

Do you do moderate cardio exercise every morning as soon as you get up @ianpspurs? I don’t think you usually have breakfast do you?

I’d like to think my morning dog walk counts as cardio but I know I’m kidding myself - dog is worse than a toddler for dawdling and stopping to investigate every twig or leaf we pass.
(At least she doesn’t give me beautiful stones to put in my pocket and carry for her like no 2 granddaughter does)

Ive just been catching up on reading your posts.Thankyou everyone for your concern and good wishes.Interesting that others on here practice mindfulness,me too and I found it very calming over the last weeks. The chat about grandchildren is interesting.Mine range from eleven to twenty one.The older three are at university and two of them graduate this year.We aim to get Bob fit enough to go to one of the graduation days.He had to miss one grandson a music students first album release,so fingers crossed.
The great thing was he could listen to grandsons music in hospital. Its quite something. If you are interested its modern jazz, yet soothing!!Quite a contradiction. For a snippet,to listen it's called Turas,(Gaelic for journey)The Fergus McCreadie Trio.

@DJC3 I have been quite lazy re moderate cardio first thing lately hence non breakfast bg levels being my worst. Part of the problem is spending too much time here first thing :banghead: Another part is my gym room being close to our bedroom and me loving music/tv when exercising. My wife struggles to sleep anywhere nearly as early as me so at times I am up and about up to 3 hrs before her so I don't want to wake her. I have done some cardio after first tea and that worked. My moderate cardio is on static cycle with oxymeter on finger.
You are correct in thinking I don't have breakfast. Back in July 2015 I did do some form of cardio after every meal. My dear, sweet wife has today said it is fine to exercise she won't wake up.

Ive got a static bike, (no oxymeter though) maybe I’ll try as soon as I get up tomorrow.
I also have to tell myself off for spending too much time here and not doing useful stuff.
