Hi
Looking for recommendations please.
An accurate BG monitor that’s easy on the pocket?

A lot of people use the code free meter or the tee 2 which both seem to be easy on the pocket. There will be someone who knows more about these to help you but do google the 2 meters and see for yourself

Hi there is information on this section of the forum which talks about different types of monitors. You can get some free of charge, you would then to pay for test strips. I understand SD code free gets a goo d reputation and the monitor and strips are reasonably priced.

Good luck with your quest

If click link you can get the tee2 for free along with lAncet pen you just need to pay for strips at 7.75 for 50 and spare lancets .
I use their free carenssens duo as you can also test ketones which are useful if going keto. I don’t use it all time for my bgs just for my ketones though I have a code free which I use for bgs as strips are slightly cheaper.
Strips slightly cheaper for codefree meter which you need to buy from somewhere like amazon about 15 quid
Bulk supplies of strips for code free can be got from home healthcare using a discount code which I believe @Rachox has - could you provide @Rachox please?
Wherever you order from tick the I have diabetes box as you don’t need to pay VAT
Any more questions do ask.

Taken from a post by @Bluetit1802 as she wrote it so nicely:

The most popular meters for self funding T2's are the Codefree and the Tee2 because the strips are much cheaper than other meters, and you need a lot of strips. You can't buy them in pharmacies.

Try here for the Codefree meter

and here for the extra strips

There are discount codes if you buy in bulk.

5 packs 264086

10 packs 975833

The Tee2 is here and the meter is free.

Don’t forget to check the box that you have diabetes so you can buy VAT free. (for either meter)
