Paracetamol x 2 + Ibuprofen x 2 together is much more effective pain relief if you can take Ibuprofen that is.

Thanks John, for the hug too. I know. It used to be my go-to cocktail, but the ibuprofen conflicts with one of my meds. I believe it's the xarelto, but yes. It's very effective. Argh, just went through another session of playing dentist with my husband. That bottom molar is a pest. Wondering if I should make myself a cup of natural antibiotics á la turmeric, but no, that seems to interact with xarelto too.

Good morning all. 6.4 for me. Average FBG for the last month 5.3, so unusually high, but at least I know why, and yes I do feel sorry for myself, so please allow me to whine. I've got very painfully infected gums around two teeth in upper as well as lower jaw. Can't afford to see a dentist, so my husband is having a go at me with a dental syringe and chlorhexidine, but sans anesthetic, unless you count 2 x paracetamol as anesthetic. :arghh: Add to that very little sleep and you get ... tadaaa 6.4. Thankfully my husband is a very skilled dental syringe + chlorhexidine artist, so hopefully he'll manage to help me. He's done it before.
Oh, I forget, even if I only slept for 3-4 hours, 1 kg of weight managed to catch me unaware while I did so. Go away Thursday.
Hope you feel better soon.

Good morning all 4.9 today still got a little bit of stomach pain but I’m going to try and ignore it I think after breakfast I’ll go out on my trampoline for a while. What’s everyone else up to today I forgot to mention my aunt, my brother, my mum, my nanny and I went gooseberry and strawberry picking yesterday

Could be gas in your stomach.

Great going @ianpspurs . You seem to be managing very well without metformin.
Thank's @DJC3 but the old one swallow does not a summer make applies and it needs to translate into a good ha1bc. I have also been taking b complex and b12 since noticing something on a full blood count back in November which DN and doc did not pick up. Off to see doc tomorrow to follow that up. Of course, none of this could be anything other than chance:banghead: Oh and thanks for the fluffy omlette heads up had one for breakfast - another change - it was amazing:)

Was a 5.1 this morning, but then again was low in the night with a 2.2 so 5.1 is a bit high for a morning test (guess I over done it during the night!!).

5.1 is not high it’s well in range

Do you know what really annoys me about this thread is all the twiners moaning because their fasting reading is in the 5s saying it’s high

Well fact is it’s not high and twining that it is can be off putting to members who REALLY do have a high fasting reading

I know this because I had a spell where I was always in double figures and made me feel like being a failure

If you inject insulin be it T1 or T2 and you drive a car then UK law is that at any time you drive you have to be 5.0 or above, lower than that then you are breaking the law

So my message to everyone is whinge away when you are out of range but stop this ridiculous obsession with saying that being in the 5s is high, because being in the 5s is NOT HIGH

Sorry for the rant but I feel better getting that off my chest

I’m not singling any one person out it’s because I’ve seen numerous posters twining about their supposed high fasting sugars in the 5s

If you are in the 5s be thankful

I’ve just tested at 11.2 so maybe a little tetchy

@Cumberland you make a very good point and I have been guilty of said whinges in the past so I will be more sensitive in the future. Hope your bg settles down and in mitigation of some of us members there is at times a competitive element to post low numbers.

I agree totally agreee with @Cumberland and have commented in the past about sub 5 numbers. Sub 5 numbers would put me back in hospital. Please don't get me started on liver dumps either.
I had never picked up on the competitive element in this thread, if I had picked up on it I would have stopped posting.
I firmly believe that long term fasting, modifying diets to affect liver functions is very very dangerous to long term health, but not being a liver specialist and also chemist these are just my opinions.

@alf_Josiah sub 5 numbers are not a problem to many members so care is needed there but I appreciate your care around that issue. In the same way care needs to be taken with those who are genuinely trying to reduce bg levels or reliance on medication. Just trying to be a peace maker there are people who need/thrive on sub 5 and people who need above 5. Both need to be sensitive how we post bearing in mind the range of needs and comorbidities here.

To me this thread is all about how people feel about their numbers if they are happy with a number then to me thats a win.

Then there are those who find it a constant struggle but still persist and post here every day come what may they are winners.

@alf_Josiah I hope that stems from your desire to make your position on the need for above 6 fbg clear. As per our conversation on rugby we know you wouldn't feed or train a prop like a winger. Similarly, your needs and some others on here are very different. All said and meant in friendship and good faith. Take care
