Anybody knows a good and CHEAP travel insurance for a travel in Thailand and Cambodia? I checked the forum but couldn't find any relevant information about this.
I just realized that most travel insurance don't take into account "preexisting medical condition", so i got a few quotes from other websites including my well managed type 1 diabetes but they are all very expensive. Bl**dy sharks. I'm crawling under virtual paper BS

Do you people usually take insurance when you're going away?
If anybody knows one, let me know!
And thanks for reading!

I have indeed. Am I really a cheapskate to think that more than £150 is a rip off?
Thanks for the link tho, it seems nobody knows a good one. Silly me, "good" and "insurance" are not two words that goes together well :D

Type of diabetes
Type 1
Treatment type
Insulin
A quote of £150 implies a long trip, not just for medical costs, but also for theft, violence, flight delays etc. Thailand is a pretty mainstream destination, Cambodia slightly less so.
So, have you tried specialist backpackers insurance policies and / or specialist outdoor / mountain activities insurance policies. In my experience, these types of companies are less likely to charge extra for well controlled type 1 diabetes than more traditional beach holiday insurance companies.

hi, I got mine from insure and go off the internet when I went to Pakistan for 3 months, it cost around £70 or £80 for the long stay option , I told them of my type 1 diabetes as it says on web that you have to ring them if you have any health conditions and was offered an optional higher premium to include any complications due to my diabetes but as I havent had any complications and didnt forsee any occuring i didn't take them up on the xtras as my main worries were accidents rather than complications due to my condition. I did get sick out there, didn't know which end (head or rear) to point to the loo first  , but saw a doctor which only cost about £10 and survived for 3 days on tablets, lucozade, diarolite and insulin as I couldnt eat a thing ,and all was fine. I searched many companies before I came across them and they were by far the cheapest and they are well known too so I would try them :)

For the past couple of years i've used http://www.travelinsuranceweb.com

They seem to offer good cover and don't hike the price too much for medical conditions. Their quotes show how much they are charging you for being diabetic so you can easily see how competitive they are.

I have fairly complex needs in that I'm T1 plus my son has a heart condition but still only paid £40 for four people for a couple weeks holiday this year which I thought was ok
