Has anyone ever been diagnosed with diabetic sialosis? It's a condition where diabetes causes massive swelling of the parotid glands (in the face, around the jaw).
I've been diagnosed by the maxillo-facial surgeon, who also tested me for, and ruled out, Sjogren's syndrome.
The pain this causes me is immense. I'm really struggling to live with it. My diabetes is in control and I have a sugar free diet. I walk for half an hour every day, and longer at weekend, so I'm getting plenty of exercise.
My legs are also aching like mad, especially around my knees, where the pain is very sharp. I have vasculitis in my feet - I have a nasty purple rash over each foot and on the lower part of the leg.
If anyone has ever heard of sialosis, I would like to hear if you have any way of controlling the pain.
