Did they prescribe blood thinner for you?
No. My Bp is well controlled ( systolic in the low 120’s diastolic in the low 70’s) on this dose of medication
Id advise anyone to always ask for a 24 hour BP trace And / or getting a home testing monitor before starting on BP meds - white coat hypertension is relatively common and there is research indicating some over medication of the population as a result

Had high blood pressure before I was diagnosed with diabetes, on discovery of High BP it was 220/105 so was quite high!! I am on Amlodipine, Perindopril, Bendrofluazide for the BP and since I had a small stroke Atorvastatin and Clopidogrel BP is now a relatively OK 120/70 but do get some magnificent dizzy spells!! so am reviewing my medication with the GP (not with a great deal of success I may add)

My BP is running at 185/91 without medication and 142/82 with. I take Valsartan evening and Aldalat mornings. The Valsartan is causing major side effects and I dont want to continue. Is there an alternative?

Did you let the doctor know about the side effects? Perhaps he can suggest an alternative.
(I hope)

I have low bloodpressure these days, but when I was still a regular 120/80, a cup of espresso would make my heartbeat and bloodpressure go nuts. Coffee (and liquorice) are generally *not* good for people with high BP.

Perindopril is another name of Coversyl. Did you find that this medication makes you go to the bathroom a lot? It does for me especially at night. What a bummer. Do you all have a monitor at home to check on your BP every day? Our BP fluctuates every hour.

The Coversyl doesn't make me go to the toilet a lot, and I have worn the 24hr BP machines in the past but I just amble along with all my meds as if I reduce them I suffer terribly with headaches, which are unmanageable, must admit the dizzy spells when standing back up from leaning over are now spectacular!! Wish I could sell it, people would pay a fortune for them!

Hello Well you are saying that coffee is not good for those suffering from high blood pressure can explain why
I'm talking about my experience when I drink coffee I feel sleep immediately When I measure blood pressure I find it does not exceed 70 to 80

My blood pressure was high when taken at the surgery. I found it strange so purchased a blood pressure monitor and after reading all the things not to do before taking a reading (which I probably guilty of before having it done with the Doc) my readings are low! Major white coat syndrome. What I’m trying to say is, it may not be as bad as you think.
