im omad for 81 days now
and would like to improve
my keto eating

but i keep eating the same things
and getting bored
i just cant think of much
more than bacon and heavy cream
or fat bombs

can a person live on just these or
if they vary the fat bomb
ingredients?
i know how to do the protein
my problem is just fat variety

Chicken thighs, beef ribs, pork belly.. there are lots of alternative fatty meats.. lamb is good for example or extra fatty beef mince?

Well done for staying on the wagon for so long! I lasted 20 days -:) But back on for 5 days a week, then 2 meals for the other 2 days.
I was never bored though: Eggs with bacon and cheese, Tuna with mayo and wilted spinach + mozzarella,
Chicken, ribs, sardines, salmon, pork chops, etc. Always with rich sauces and chilliest.

here's what i imagine would be a food list to use

eggs
bacon
canned tuna in oil
butter
cream cheese
heavy cream
coconut milk
coconut oil
olive oil
ground beef
sausages
ham
pork chops
chicken breasts (i know legs and thighs may be higher in fat
but i really like breast meat)
turkey breast (same as chicken breast i just like it better)
cheese
maybe low low carb veggies like lettuce and cucumbers
carb free spices
and probably more i cant imagine

now that seems like alot to choose from
but i have difficulty putting them together as meals
and i dont end up with good recipes in my online searches

When it comes to a scrumptious keto meal, this, for me, immediately springs to mind. I made it last night: https://www.wholesomeyum.com/recipes/low-carb-chili-in-crock-pot-or-instant-pot-paleo-gluten-free/

It looks like a faff, but honestly, chop and soften the onion a bit, adding in the garlic towards the end, then also brown the ground meat. Add all the other ingredients and get it brewing for the prescribed time. I used our Instant Pot, but it'd be jusdt as good in the crock pot, I'm sure.

As I had made a mistake yesterday of cooking half a batch of the meat, but all the spices, it was a bit hot! In order to calm it down a but, I added dollops of both sour cream and plain yoghurt. It was delicious, and I'd actually say better for both those dollops.

On serving we grated some cheese on top, as we were both very hungry. Nom, nom, nom.

I know I'm late with this thread but I have some turkey breast mince in the freezer and to raise the fat and fibre content I'm making burgers with ground walnuts and ground flax, frying them in goose fat. I'm new to lchf but I feel like I've finally come home! Just noticed though that the lean meat myth is very deeply ingrained in me as I still automatically look for leaner cuts, and have to remind myself not to.

I would say - no place in a Keto way of eating for lean meat cuts :). But keep an eye on eating whole animal as much as you can? And as good quality animal/meat as you can.

Been on keto a few days now, it's great if you think outside the box.

Eating chicken and mushroom soup right now, with fried pancetta and mushrooms, then a load of cheddar cheese on top! mmm and only 12g of carbs.

Hardest thing about keto for me is not eating too much protein.

Just had amazing meal, 1 chicken kiev (cheese and bacon), chestnut mushrooms, pancetta, brocolli, with a piece of gouda cheese melted over the top. <15g carbs. Earlier, minestrone soup, with grated mozerella cheese and 3 sausages.

Get creative and keto is great.

New to forums so be gentle. I recently experienced similar issues to this. Finding it difficult with my foods. I recently read this article which helped me find suitable cooking assistance. I'm now using a number of books to help me cook different food everyday which is really helpful.
