Morning @Ziggy2017 .
Long term asthma suffer here.

try to make you some ginger tea..proper not packet.
*Buy some root ginger.
*Cut off about an inch, cut that into 8/10 slices .( i don't, but you can peel before cutting or grate it )
*pop into a pot of boiling water and simmer for 10-15 mins
*drain and serve, add slice of lemon if you like. (sweetener as required.)

Had mild cold over many years..Ran from sept -feb every year
then one year had severe attack, which led me to look on line for something that MIGHT help me.

Started taking a few years back and that congestion, reduced considerably..
now its a regular drink and my asthma is much more manageable.

NB: i still use the sprays as normal, the tea, like the brown inhaler, simply helps reduce congestion over the day, and possibly reduces breathing issues for the next few days.

a long-ish link here, describes benefits of ginger tea..see 8:26...GINGER

wife likes it plain i like it with a slice of fresh lemon
(i used to really enjoy it with honey as well, but not since T2D.)

I'm sure you know but a top tip, when breathing is aggravated to reduce coughing,
is to use the STOMACH muscles to power the lungs/breath..not the ribcage..
(if that makes sense..when ever if have had a serious cold, that has helped to reduce the coughing for me}

Hope that helps in someway.

Good luck & hope you fell better soon.

MERRY CHRISTMAS & HAPPY NEW YEAR
Hi @jjraak I honestly don’t know what’s going on I don’t have asthma but I’ve had a double lung transplant 6 years ago in order to keep my lungs healthy I have to take immuno suppresents if I didn’t my lungs would reject I don’t normally use an inhaler but I took a couple of puffs of my mums last night and the coughing stared to ease a bit but this afternoon I stared coughing even worse. The hospital I go to specialises in transplantation I think my mum is going to call them tomorrow last time I seen them they said if this cough doesn’t ease I’m going to need to have a bronc. Anyway enjoy your evening

Hi @jjraak

I don’t have asthma ....
I don’t normally use an inhaler but I took a couple of puffs of my mums last night and the coughing stared to ease a bit but this afternoon I stared coughing even worse....

O bless, @Ziggy2017
I stumbled in thinking it was asthma....so sorry.

I do hope the cough eases, and if needed you get some help for yourself from the doctors.

Take care of yourself.
& best wishes.

Morning all. No testing this morning partly due to investigating what Dario/MyDario monitoring system is all about. I was given that system as a Christmas present from my sons so would like to say I have used it and found it useful. Anyone on here have any experience of it?
Have simply spiffing days and pip pip old toots.

over selling.... oh so many things are enthusiastically oversold
I hadn't considered that...i think I'll try that method next time @OrsonKartt ..cheers.

Have a great day.
same goes for lemon tea. Just a chunk of lemon with boiling water on top gives a refreshing drink which according to some has health benefits.

Good morning all
5.7 today - Another higher one for me after a family get together yesterday, nothing particularly naughty but just larger amounts and eaten much later!
Off on motorway again later this morning - taking mum back up north in time for her 88th birthday party tomorrow.
Hope everyone has a good day - whatever you’re doing.

Morning all, a 6.1 this morning, maybe my liver is clearing itself of all the wine over xmas day and getting a chance to mop up the other stuff, not that theres a lot of carbs there. My only regression over the period has been a couple of chestnuts , delicious and seemed prudish not to indulge . Glad to hear everyone got great gifts, I got some lovely socks which I must say are much more useful than frankincense and myrrh . Have a great day all. ... Must be close to coffee time...

Morning All. 7.7 at 0800. I was going to say nothing sweet passed my lips yesterday but remembered I did have half a parsnip and bread sage and onion stuffing. Oh well back to reality now....I am very reactive to bad things...going to try OMAD today and eat that late afternoon. Facetimed my friend yesterday and she seems/looks so much better. @Ziggy2017 hope you will improve today let us know...sending hugs.
My Christmas presents were mainly candles and darkest choc (Hotel choc and bars Lindt 90) enough to last all year. Also got a very nice fine knit wool poncho. And a bottle of gin!
Have a great day everyone. Stay well, safe and hypo free.
