Welcome @squiggle1 . From your post it would be very difficult to say what you are doing right or wrong. Testing before and after is right - how many gms of carb were there in the 2 biscuits?

Just my opinion but can I suggest you look at carbohydrate rather than sugar then try to see how meals/snacks lower than that carb level work for you?
