Before i ask my question I just want to say that I am not in denial but people keep saying to me that Diabetes is a "Chronic Disease" is this correct or just people repeating what uneducated people say ??
A chronic disease is defined as, "one that is long-lasting or recurrent. The term chronic describes the course of the disease, or its rate of onset and development."
If diabetes was an acute disease then there would be a rapid onset as in some people with diabetes but it would be of short duration. Diabetes is for life.
In medicine, a chronic disease is a disease that is long-lasting or recurrent. The term chronic describes the course of the disease, or its rate of onset and development.
