No sex with type 1...?

Dear All,

I really need some help/advice with this please...

I'm 32 female with 42 yo diabetic type 1.
Being at my peak time of womanhood I find it extremely difficult to be in a sexless relationship. I love my partner and always up for some fun but it doesn't seem to be mutual.
We've had this problem for over a year now. I fell pregnant last October so my pregnancy and wriggling baby was always an excuse.
However, i gave birth in the beginning of July and we barely have sex.
My partner is ok to go without for a month or so, it's been 3 months now.
He did his blood tests and his testosterone is ok, he watches porn so I guess he's not asexual. I'm back to my pre-pregnancy looks and honestly you wouldn't tell I've just had a baby.

So where the hell is the problem...?
My last resource is to blame it on diabetes as I really run out of ideas.
When we would get to have sex he would have an erection but would struggle a bit to keep it hard or would remain semi hard.
He often falls asleep very quickly when we get into bed and always complains he's tired.

Is it normal for type 1 at this age,
What can i do to help,
Is there anything I can do at all...?

Or he just doesn't fancy me anymore? :-/

Please help...!

People. Noise. Swearing. Many foods.
I can only speak as a T2 but the condition as well as many medications play absolute hell with your sex life. Its not just a physical thing but also mental and you can lose interest no matter how much you love or fancy your partner.

Watching porn may be his way of trying to stimulate sexual activity; to see if there is that spark.

But yeah, diabetes can play a role and if he worries about it then it becomes more of an issue and you go round in circles looking for a way out.

Not ashamed to say I have been there and got several t-shirts.

Has he been to his doctor ?.

Speaking from a type 1 female, I feel that diabetes can have an effect on libido. If levels are unstable then sex isn’t on my mind and can go months without.

Is he controlled?

I’m T1 and as I’ve got older I’d rather have a cup of tea

We’re all different please be patient

The key is to talk and tell him how you really feel

T1 can render men impotent if diabetes is poorly controlled amongst other factors

Have a chat with him

Hmm... I’ve just turned 30 and I’m probably in the same boat as u... I have a partner who is 7 years older then me.. we barely have sex.... I want to get pregnant and so does he... however he smoke weed and drinks now and then.... does ur partner do that?? Because I no that sort of thing decrease the sexual appetite...

So my advice speak to him... ask him if he is still attracted to you... and how u could make things more interesting and what he would like... telling him how your feeling.... it’s better to no then to carry on the way u are... because with ur diabetes it very easy for depression to kick in and u don’t want that

If you need someone to chat to can alway message me

Hi,

Well?!! There could be other factors other than just assuming diabetes to consider...
I would agree that fluctuating sugars may not put one in the "mood."

But then, I've also kindly let relationships go when the talk of ditching the condoms & making a great dad comes up, & give em space to find the right guy for the job.. Long term commitment & happiness is a two way street.

How long have you been with your partner? Does he have children from a previous relationship?
Are you wishing to expand your family?
You need to both sit down & talk frankly regarding personal future goals & where these plans fit in for the relationship..

Good luck!
