5.6 on a wet Wednesday morning. I am watching Tai Chi on TV and wishing it were on later than 7:30 am. I am not a morning person. Just very sore and achy this morning after waiting 4 hours in the lobby of my apartment building yesterday for the mail carrier, who refused to help me look for the package the Post Office lost on Saturday. Oh, well, Pub Trivia this afternoon -- looking forward to that!

Good morning everyone.

7.5 this morning, which is heading in the right direction. Lovely bright day here today, so am off out for a bit of a walk, as my back is starting to ease a bit which is just GREAT!

Reading all the replies about the genetics issue I raised - fascinating!

Thanks for your post. :) I have been on the phone for a couple of hours with the post office, the company that shipped the items, and FedEx. The phone agent at the company said that my apartment number had been left off the shipping label, so now we think that is the problem. She said she would claim the shipment (FedEx said I could not), and refund my account. Meanwhile she will send a replacement. She included my apartment number. So I am feeling much better, and hopefully this time the package will arrive in my mailbox!

I will also talk with management of my apartment building to see if we can go back to having packages left at the front desk, since it would be cost-prohibitive for us to require signature-only delivery on all packages, the way shipping companies operate these days.

Now for a third cup of coffee before getting ready for Pub Trivia!

Know-it-all's!!!!!!!
I didn't do mine till after a shower this morning and got the best 1st reading in ages! 5.3. I'm normally in the 6's an 7's. But can anyone answer this for me: If I go to bed with a reading of around 7.5 - 8.5, I will be higher in the morning! If I go to bed with a reading of 15.4 or some other silly high figure for me, I get readings of around 6 to 7!! I'm type 2 and have been for about 7 years.
I asked a specialist DN about this and she assured me that it was nothing to do with the dawn phenomenon, but could not explain it. Anyone else get this? Or any ideas anyone?

5.4 again for me.

Now there's a coincidence as William Rufus (the red) who was killed by Walter was according to my family tree my 24th great Uncle and his brother Henry, Rufus's that is was my 24th great grandfather.:)

It is isn't it? :) I'm heard the theory that if you go back far enough in time, everyone is related to everyone else.

I've heard that too, and I have to say in my ancestry dot com family tree there are now something like 40,000 records but even so there are people I have randomly selected that I can find no connection to what so ever.

but the reference to the puritans and Massachusetts did ring a bell a 2nd cousin 9x removed of mine married the grandson of a guy who was thrown out of Massachusetts by the puritans because they didn't like what he was preaching so he went to what is now Providence, Rhode Island and bought some land and then founded the first baptist church in America his name was Roger Williams.

Yes, he is famous over here. One of the names we learn in Colonial History classes. :)

Morning all, not been on here for a few days. Up early as about to make my way to Gatwick to catch a flight to Budapest. Levels have been remarkably good. I tested a few minutes ago (which is earlier than usual) and was 6.7 :).

I don’t think I’ll have such good control in Budapest as the carb counting will be guess work, but I have all my supplies with me to treat hypers/hypos.

Have a nice rest of the week everyone!
