I have been on the phone for a couple of hours with the post office, the company that shipped the items, and FedEx. The phone agent at the company said that my apartment number had been left off the shipping label, so now we think that is the problem. She said she would claim the shipment (FedEx said I could not), and refund my account. Meanwhile she will send a replacement. She included my apartment number. So I am feeling much better, and hopefully this time the package will arrive in my mailbox!
I will also talk with management of my apartment building to see if we can go back to having packages left at the front desk, since it would be cost-prohibitive for us to require signature-only delivery on all packages, the way shipping companies operate these days.
Now for a third cup of coffee before getting ready for Pub Trivia!
