I'd like to be able to delete posts as i'm uneasy about giving out personal info. Especially if a question isn't answered.

Cruelty towards animals.
If your question isn't answered, in other words if there is no post after yours, you can delete your own post by clicking on x (in a square box) in the top RH corner of your post. If however someone has posted after yours, you can always edit your post (edit button top RH corner of post) and remove the information you are not happy about. There will be a comment which appears at the bottom of your post saying you edited it, date and time, and how many times you edited it.

But be careful with the personal information - if you're not happy about it being seen by people who you don't know, don't post it at all.

Childish people who start childish arguments. KNOW-ALLS who claim they can help people to control their Diabetes without knowing their medical back ground.

BLINKERED people who think their way is the ONLY way.

Eating LOADS of SAT FATS. I HATE SAT FATS.

Did I mention I dislike KNOW-ALLS.

People desperate for attention and recognition.

People who get angry when they don't receive anything in return for helping others.

The only problem there is that is somebody replied quoting the whole of your post or the part where the information you want to delete is present then it can be seen and the only way to delete/remove that information is to ask the person who replied to edit his/her post and remove the content you want removed. Failing that you could ask Admin for help.

After reading some posts here about gardening I was wondering if it might be possible or indeed worth it to create a "Hobbies" section where people can talk about their hobbies/interests?

I know this is a Diabetes forum but even diabetics have some sort of a hobby that they might want to share/talk about? If anything, it could take our minds off the disease at least for a little while.

Just a thought.

Hiya, Thats a great idea Ka-Mon, It would help persons that can be home alone n isolated intergrate n socialise with a new hobby and interest, plus another site page / thread to wander off too n mooch through, n give us all something else to chat about as a change from just diabetes related topics. Its a positive thought to add something, that can help n reach out to others n common ground interests n hobbies to relate with each other. I like it!! Anna.x :D

Good idea, gives the forum another angle. Allows people to find similar interests.

Which is understandable but, as a forum owner myself, deleting posts can completely mess up a thread, useful info can be lost etc.
I do see your point about unanswered posts though.

Love your idea Ka-Mon. Exercise isn't necessarily about sport and other interests may encourage people to get out and about more or to stay ccheerful and optimistic. Might give folk some ideas for new interests perhaps if illness prevents them doing what they did before.

Just a thought, but might it be time to revamp the forum rules and ethos section, at the moment it is quite a long read (11 posts) with several points repeated.

viewtopic.php?f=25&t=5019

Could it be edited or rewritten so that all of the points are contained in one "sticky" rather than a whole thread?

I do not have diabetes
@ill3st - we're on the way to develop an iPhone/iOS app, BB app and Android app - should take about 6-8 weeks - but it's a bit of a long one, as you'd expect!

@frenchkittie - done!

Thanks again for the quick reply, would you not look into Tapatalk? It's what I use on my iTouch when it's near wi-fi. By far the most used App on my phone.

I think newbies should be able to send and recieve private messaged straight away.
I read somewhere that they have to have made a certain amount of posts before being able to access pm?
there was a member kindly offering free meters but cant obtain the newbies adddress to post them due to not being able to pm them.
also when a new member joins and a modertor needs to contact them its isnt ideal that the newbie has to have posted x amount of posts before sending accessing the pm function.
