Animas to 640g high BG

I changed from my vibe to my 640g on Saturday and have set up all my basals to be the same as the vibe. I have also moved from Inset II to Mios which is the same set. However I have found that I am running higher and keep having to correct my BG. The set is working as I'm not super high and it responds. I'm just not sure if it's a sluggish cannula site or if it's the new pump. The bolus does deliver very differently to the vibe (miles slower) but not sure if this would cause it. Has anyone else found they run higher when changing from Animas to Medtronic please?

My DSN is part time so unavailable most of the time. She was supposed to have set my Medtronic account up but found out today she hasn't. I'm left to my own devices but I'm ok with that as I manage pretty well. I haven't had erratic control like this for years so I posted just to see if others had experienced the same when moving between these two pumps.

My diabetic consultant is next to impossible to get hold of and doesn't chat on the phone. He expects the DSN to manage the day to day pump stuff. My GP doesn't know one end on an insulin pump from another.

I've found the issue now anyway. It's the temp basal. I use this all the time and I did ask my DSN to take me through it. However she failed to explain that unlike with the animas where 100% is PLUS 100% with the 640g 100% is your standard basal. So when I've been trying to add 50% on I've actually been giving half my usual basal!!! Explains a whole lot of weird BG readings. Quite cross as I even said to DSN it's weird it starts with a setting of plus 100%. Anyway now I should see more stable readings.

Glad you got it sorted!!
That is a pretty slack pump support system @MushyPeaBrain. Your consultant should not be treating any patient as 'set and forget'.!!! There are supposed to be plans worked out between you and your DSN and Doctor about what to do in emergencies or times of difficulty.
In Oz I have contact with specialist, nurse and pump rep if I need it. And sick day and pump difficulty plans.
I have educated my GP about the pump because there is no provision for it.!!
And it shows how health systems (in many countries) fall down because they bypass the GP's and leave them under-educated.
