I live in Norfolk and we have loads of these, for example Happisburgh- pronounced Haze-bru, also Wymondham, pronounced Wind-am, Costessey pronounced Cossy is another.

Also Garboldisham becomes Garble-shum.

One of my favourite counties for bizarre spelling/pronunciation (prashun?) has to be Kent. Apart from Wrotham which is Root'em, there is Trottiscliffe (pronounced Trozlee) which is less than a mile from Trosley (Trozlee) Park. Ightham is pronounced Item!
