I only drink decaff tea with a dash of milk, and occasionally decaff coffee either black if out and about, or with double cream when at home. It doesn't affect me. I agree it is more likely the caffeine raising the adrenalin that causes a rise.
I recently read that caffeine contributes to insulin sensitivity, might have been from Dr Eric Berg comments.

I like his presentations, simple to understand

That's really good news. Great to hear that it is fine to carry on with the Nespresso's. So nice that something so delicious isn't that bad.

Sadly it also contributes to irregular heart beats and a fast pulse rate.
