I'm living proof you can fly commercially with T1 diabetes. One of the few Guinea pigs - just flown 9 days out of 10 (hello summer season) with the lowest reading of 5.6 and highest 9.6. As already mentioned, it's just a few more hoops to jump through and regular 6 month check ups but not impossible by any means.

The UK Civil Aviation Authority are beginning a trial with Dexcom to trial CGM in the flight deck. If successful, we will be able to test with CGM and only if levels get out of the 'range' will we have to revert to finger prick testing - things are moving quickly.
