@Goacher55 I have just started 16:8 fasting and asked the same question in the fasting thread (not sure how to post a link) I am a coffee addict and can't cope in a morning without a cup of coffee now even better with cream instead of skimmed milk! How I love LC
The replies that I got were that it was OK to have, in my case coffee and cream, so I would guess tea with milk would be just as acceptable.
I have managed from 6.30 pm to 1pm and not felt hungry. I am trying to eat when hungry at the moment.

over selling.... oh so many things are enthusiastically oversold
@OrsonKartt Vitamin K2? Will look into that, and if course I'm not getting enough C any more am I! Can't take D, I was high on several labs in a row so was told to stop for a while. I used it to help with depression, which it really did, but I was taking the max allowable dose...
@Goacher55 lol re no- glasses/glasses readings. I like the second one better too!
@ianpspurs I am rolling my eyes at "pegan". What will they think of next, and does it all have to have hashtag-worthy names?
@Bubbsie I have a (tries to be) small snack every night too as I take advil right before I go to bed. Get old, get aches and pains lol. I'm sure FBG would be better if I didn't, but like @ianpspurs 's horses for courses, I pays my money and I takes my choice re which body system I'm going to protect and cherish at any given moment, because some of the cherishings are contradictory to others....
@jjraak whatever this Imperial Leather Ivory is, it's not what I meant :joyful::joyful: let's see if I can get a link for you https://ivory.com/bar-soap the perfect picture! Have fun Sunday. I love you crowds of bikers but NOT the noise; first person to make a mute for Harley's wins a Nobel Prize for peace! :hilarious:
Y'all... I can't keep up with this thread even on vacay, when I'm doing nothing! I'll never make it at home. Off to grocery shop.

I think it's the combo of magnesium & k2 that helps the cramps

This is how I post a link with my Chromebook:

I go to the site for which I want to post the link.
I left-click on the address at the top of the screen to highlight the address.
Then I right-click on the highlighted address and click COPY from the drop-down menu.
Then I come back here and right-click where I want to paste the address. I click PASTE, and voila! there it is:

https://www.diabetes.co.uk/forum/threads/word-association-game-4.42049/page-2253

The same technique works with a Windows computer; sorry I don't remember how to do it on a Mac.

ETA: The link is to a fun thread so this is an invitation for y'all to join us there. :)

Hugs to everyone who is experiencing cramping. I don't get that anymore, but I frequently get all-over aching. I have no idea what causes it.

Hugs to you and your friend, @JohnEGreen .

I was standing in the kitchen waiting for the water to boil and wondering what it was I'd forgotten ...

Oops. Testing. And a little too late to remedy that while you're chewing on the first bite of breakfast.

Oh, well. A test forgotten = a strip saved for another day. :)
Ah, the test not taken.

Hi All. Not long back from eye clinic. Have proliferative retinopathy in one eye luckily other one is fine. Consultant was way too young to be one and had a good face for an undertaker but his jolly assistant more than made up for that with smiles and a trilling laugh. Anyway need a course of injections in my eye starting in a few weeks. One a month for 3 months then review of situation. Asked about going private but he said no point. Cant get my eye wet for a few days after each treatment to avoid infection according to my very serious NBF. Have to be exactly 4 weeks apart so need to start so avoid my hols on Cornwall in June.
Not the best news @PenguinMum but I seem to remember @BibaBee's husband has made good progress with similar treatment and hopefully a course of treatment will work

No, but it seems as though it’s OK to do so:

“As for having coffee or tea during your fast — you should be just fine. As a general rule of thumb, if you drink something with less than 50 calories, then your body will remain in the fasted state. So, your coffee with a splash of milk or cream is just fine.”

Taken from here:

https://jamesclear.com/reader-mailbag-intermittent-fasting

I just put “ tea with milk when intermittent fasting” into search engine and up popped a load of replies, all saying pretty much the same thing.
That definition is basically what I use

@jjraak every time I've felt that, my bg has been sky high, my heart bouncing around, and it turns out I'm dehydrated. Drink and drink, numbers come down, and fiiiinally I recycle some of that water.
But good to know what a false hypo feels like!
@DJC3 I'll post a pic. No less ridiculous than a fuzzy bike seat
@SaskiaKC that cat story is hilarious! ALL cats love boxes. There is a really cool Youtube video of a guy building a whole wall of boxes for a very happy cat. View attachment 32553

That’s a brilliant photo. Why oh why? Cats are so strange.

I used to love roast pork Orson...we used to buy it at the the Ginger Pig butchers in Borough Market...that was of course before Borough Market became Uber trendy (we could afford it then)...however an unfortunate incident with a joint we bought that had the nipples still attached put me right off it...are we allowed to mention Nipples here?...if not apologies in advance:wideyed:

We had exactly the same issue last week with a joint of belly pork from the local butcher - I posted a pic of it on the ‘what have you eaten today’ thread. I was horrified when I realised what they were but Mr C just shrugged and said ‘what on earth do you expect?’
Once it was cooked and the crackling was all bubbly I couldn’t tell, and I don’t know why I was so squeamish, it was just the initial shock I think.

Oh PM that does sound scary. I hope you find it’s not as bad as it sounds, and if it saves your sight it’s worth it. Sending hugs and sympathy.

I live to eat. Just had my supper of a few guacamole nibbles with Ryvita, followed by a fast grilled rib-eye steak with steamed green beans and courgettes al dente. To garnish I added generous chopped red onion and shavings off my very chilled Normandy butter. Black pepper grind. Really deelish. Carbs? Punch your lights out!

With feeling: "Top of the World, Ma!" (Name that actor and film, I love the old movies)

Didn’t have time to post this morning but was 6.0. Better than yesterday but worse than last week.
@True Blue I have a vague recollection of Jimmy Cagney but can’t remember the film title. Am I close?
We have a winner! Jimmy Cagney was standing on top of a burning oil refinery. This was his last line before......(White Heat).

@PenguinMum I am so sorry to hear about your eye.

The new optometrist I saw yesterday wants me to go to a specialist to see what is wrong with my left eye, and also for cataract surgery.

I have had such poor vision in the left eye for so many years now that I just don't want to deal with going to yet another new doctor for yet another exam. I have been poked and stabbed and palpated enough for one year!

I am really sorry you are having to go back to have the series of injections. But I am glad that you have Cornwall to look forward to when you have come through with flying colors. I know you will. Hang in there -- we are with you.

Hugs and purrs from the KittenCat and me.

Exactamundo.

For me the fasting trail is yonder, shaded and dark.

but who knows, maybe i'll get brave and cut a trail through the dense undergrowth soon
and find myself in the clearing ahead, and have my day basking in the sunshine, alongside so many others.

good evening all :)

was 4.7 this morning.

been out helping in the charity shop today so I'm very late posting :sorry:
Usually there are two of us but for most of the day today I was on my own so I've had plenty of exercise since the stockroom and bathroom are both upstairs from the shop ;)

Whilst I was thus occupied mr gee took mums's little dog for a nice long walk whilst the plumber was fixing mum's heating, apparently the circulation pump had failed so the safety cut out stopped the system running. Mum found it quite entertaining listening to the plumber, who is the same one that fitted the system, trying to get in the same space he'd put the boiler in since he's now some years older and at least several inches broader in the beam :hilarious:

@PenguinMum how stressful for you, at least it sounds like there is something they can do to help, sending hugs your way.

Hope your day has treated you kindly :)

Thanks @SaskiaKC . I hope your eye problems dont deteriorate but maybe you should go to the new doctor just to be sure. Sight is top of my priorities. Bet KC would agree.

"Look at me, Ma, on top of the world"?
The point is that we need some happy people who feel on top of the world, or off the bottom at least. We have had a few negative posts, so I thought I'd add some positive energy. I'm a glass half full person, now mostly ice, diet tonic and bitters.
