I've just been diagnosed t2. Should I get a monitor? If so which one as there are so many.

Yes, you should, and when you do, we can show you how best to use it.

You only need one meter, but you need many thousands of test strips. The cost of the strips varies from about £8 to £30 for 50, so whuichever one you buy make sure you investigate the cost of the strips.

The most popular meters for self funding T2's are the Codefree and the Tee2+ because the strips are much cheaper than other meters, and you need a lot of strips. You can't buy them in pharmacies.

Mmol/l is the measurement used here in the UK

Not in the UK as a T2 diabetic, you have to self fund most of the time.

Only if you are on insulin or certain strong drugs that can cause hypos. The rest of us self fund.
