Not being able to eat as many chocolate digestives as I used to.
Always trusted my finger prick tester but my pre lunch test returned a figure of 4.0.
I didn't believe it as I have pretty good hypo awareness and tested again, - 7.9.

Then got 4.4, 7.0, 5.9 and finally 6.6 from the same test site and within a minute or so. Wondering if my strips are not doing their job but can't think why.

Afternoon, currently overseeing maths revision...

I had a T1 student asked to be excused five minutes early so he could do his test and jab before lunch - he tried a Libre once ut didn't like the whole "having a thing attached" business. He was intrigued my my levels on my watch though but had never heard of the MiaoMiao and how it can add to Libre - I wonder if he'll rethink? Tl;dr - met a T1 in the wild and it was nice. Especially as I had a smooth line to show him hahaha

Hi all, up and out early today, better day than yesterday though that wouldn't be difficult!

I met a T1 in the wild on a very rare shopping trip. Was browsing in Gap when she walked past with her Libre on display but held on by an elastoplast. We talked, and she agreed that one of the worst things is when people walk into you and nudge it; she'd just had a near miss with a woman with a large handbag which was intent on detaching the sensor.

@Mel dCP I get your student's thing about being attached, it's certainly a part of what's put me off the idea of a pump. On the other hand, I don't mind the Libre, so maybe it's about the tubes and what have you; I know your Ominipod doesn't have those so that would be more appealing. But I'd still have to get to grips with umpteen different basal settings and tinkering and fiddling that all you pumpers do so admirably.

Pssst. @helensaramay .

In the Dropbox Glimp folder. Have you opened the zipped file "GlicemiaMisurazioni.csv" into a spreadsheet??
It seems to, or may have most of what you need happening there...But it looks like all the BG data is in "metric." (mg/dl.)

Just been up to see my Kidney Dr. He shook my hand and told me to carry on doing whatever I had been doing for the past year as my kidneys are still working at 21%. For me thats a massive win.....been 21% for 4 odd years.......since I have been a "GOOD" diabetic :)

People whose attitude says "Me, my opinion, my desire is greater and more important than anyone else"

And to whom the principle of ahimsa is a closed book that they refuse to open because it would make life more difficult for them.
Home. Oh yay. Absolutely crackered.

Tomorrow the new fridge arrives and so, it turns out, does our new mattress! Gonna be a busy day. Luckily we paid a little extra so the mattress people will take away the old one. I'm very much hoping this new one is more supportive because the old one has stopped being (mainly because it's older now). The new one says it's a firm orthopaedic mattress so it should be OK. Personally I'd like a proper wool-packed futon on the floor but husband looked at me like I've gone mad. "They are very comfy!" I said, he looked even more doubtful and got that look on his face. Not worth a fight, so I caved gracefully.

I am so very glad to be home!

Thanks @Jaylee I had found the file but it hadn't occurred to me that the units needed converting. That's well within my Excel capability. Then I can create DSN friendly graphs to my heart's content.

From what I can make of it. The left column of mg/dls are the Libre readings & the right column is the calibrations? Because after that are the occaisional meter tests & boluses + where taken & or injected...

I just happened to be messing with Dropbox for another reason, saw yer post.

The NFC warnings? "Mostly harmless."

Greeting fellow colanders and pumpers; hope you have all had a good day enjoying the sunshine

Looking for some advice from anyone who may have done this. I am off on holiday to Turkey in a weeks time going for 2 weeks. I have weighed up the options and have decided on this occasion not to take my pump but to go back to MDI for the 2 weeks

I know what my doses were before I went onto the pump and wondered are these likely to be around the same doses, when I start again on MDI? Previously was taking Novo Rapid and a split Levemir dose

On the pump my Bolus dose has not really changed that much but my Basal has dropped from around 46 units to 30 units per day. I appreciate that the Basal is just fast acting insulin being slowly drip fed constantly

Any thoughts would be appreciated

Random recurring grumble: Wouldn't it be nice if diabetes reacted the same today to the same carbs and insulin as yesterday and the day before? Especially when activity levels and food over the day were roughly the same too?
Nothing spectacular going on and still spectacularly good numbers compared to 'the average diabetic', but why not the same reaction at all?
(and yes, I know all the reasons, or at least about 50 of them, but sometimes diabetes strikes me as a very annoying condition. Blergh.)
