Thanks, I've been googling and saw that. I'm hoping it was just a contaminated urine sample because I had a baby 7 weeks ago and my urine tests often show leukocytes as well, which I think is just contamination from the discharge that comes from the uterus after giving birth. I don't seem to have other symptoms of a uti. This was the first time some protein showed up but it was a cloudy sample and an hour later after drinking water and trying again to get a cleaner sample, the urine looked perfectly normal. So I'm hoping it was just a clumsy sample the first time.No one can offer medical advice on this forum. You need to consult your GP or specialist. However, I tend to read articles on the Mayo Clinic in the meantime. I hope you get the issue sorted.

Hi @Cocosilk I had protein in my urine at the age of 15, after 14 years of Type1. When I was 42 I had reached stage 3. End stage is stage 5. Certainly from my point of view (not necessarily yours) the protein found in 1973 was connected to kidney function, but as stated above, we are not in a position to diagnose. I simply wanted to alert you to the fact that it does not necessarily indicate your kidneys are at such a level. I wish you a positive outcome. PS I avoided dialysis throughout my life, but had a kidney/pancreas transplant nearly 6 years ago. Good luck! And if this is right, protein in urine shouldn't be anything to do with the diet unless you already have end stage kidney disease, which I don't.

not an expect on this but .
it is a well know fact that pregnant women can get symptoms of diabetes while and during having a baby
so the protein can be a side effect possible to
but as as ERT SAID WE CAN NOT ADVISE ON MEDICAL it is down to nurse ,doctors, who have your details and history
but just keep and eye on PROTEIN LEVELS SAY NEXT 3 MONTHS
i know i am kidney transplant person of 12 years and 3 years on dialysis
keep safe and well congrats on baby
