Hey folks I need some help regarding bolusing for a meal of the following

Fried chicken on a Belgian waffle with a fried egg
Chips with lamb mince on top

Out for a mates dinner tomorrow and I quite fancy the above. I'm thinking as it's high in fat I'm thinking add 25% to the total carbs and then take 50% of that up front and the rest when the arrow starts to rise on the libre.

It sounds really good.....

For me personally though the fat content of that wouldn't really effect me enough for a split strategy.......

Why are you adding on 25%?

For me if I had to I would probably do an 80 up front and 20 later....on the pump so, would deliver the 20 over 2 hours.....

its a decent tactic.....although I am less sensitive to fat than you maybe....

best of luck and enjoy....

25% is due to the higher protein in comparison to the carbs as I'd order additional chicken - LOL

I see, yeah......

Again, because I am not on a low carb diet, protein doesn't matter for me....more so when served with chips etc.....

I wouldn't even know how to start figuring that one out! Personally I'd probably bolus quite a lot up front and add more insulin when I see rises later on... so not nearly as sophisticated as your own approach.
Wonderful question for a T1 quiz though :p
And probably the best thread title in a long time, love it!

You only live once guys, also I train every other day and my diet is pretty spot on so every month or so I may go wild like this for a meal, wild but ideally not out of BGL range!!!!!

This post made me smile, I could see many very low carbers running for the hills!

If this is two courses (I assume you don’t have chicken and lamb with one course), I would be tempted to separately bolus for each course because you don’t know how long you will wait between.

I need a picture of this meal. Wasn't even aware different toppings than whipped cream or jam on a Belgian waffle was a thing, really can't imagine this meal!

So this meal needed a couple of doses and about 60% upfront then another 20% ish and then the final quite late.
