FBG at 0725 was 4.7 (8 hours fast), food yesterday was;

Breakfast: 3/4 cup honey nut Cheerios w/2% milk, black tea, 250 mg metformin
Dinner: 2 slices ham on petrified lettuce w/hot English mustard, black tea, handful of mixed salted nuts
Dinner: Restaurant- crab cakes with asparagus tips in avocado/cheese sauce, tomato bisque soup, Guiness (pint), 250 mg metformin
Snack: 2 glasses red wine

Temp here at 0900 was 13C, skies hazy and clearing. Heading out to do final Ranger engine testing (85 miles to shop) but fixing/checking Nest Hello video doorbell first. It died sometime during the night, 25 VAC at transformer, only 10.5 VAC at camera/doorbell, obviously an inconvenient problem...

How do you get away with so many carbs in your day bud . Nice goin
I average 160g/day of carbs which is only half the recommended amount. Evening meal is usually no more than 60g of carbs in total.
I also do plenty of exercise, and measure BG regularly but haven't had any issues.
I'm not convinced very low carbs are necessary for everyone (though they are for some) and I really don't like to eat a lot of high fat foods.

Also, I don't believe that I am or ever was diabetic. I was 7 stones overweight and didn't much exercise. I believe that I was insulin resistant due to visceral fat around my liver and pancreas and well on the way to diabetic but not there yet.
It was just too easy for me to resolve. All BG readings from a few weeks after diagnosis have been normal for non diabetic (without meds), my HbA1c is stable at 32. The point is, that although I lost 7 stones, my readings were all great from when I was still almost 6 stones over. This doesn't fit the experience of many others.

I still take it seriously, which is why I monitor and record food and exercise. It helps me, and if it helps anyone else that's great.

FBG at 0750 was 5.7 (8 hours fast), food yesterday was;

Breakfast: 3/4 cup honey nut cheerios, black tea, 250 mg metformin
Lunch: 2 slices ham on lettuce w/hot English mustard, black tea
Dinner: Dairy Queen 1/4 pound hamburger loaded w/bun, small French fries w/ketchup & vinegar, black tea, 250 mg metformin
Snack: zero, nuthin' nada

Temp here at 0900 was 12C, skies clear and light breeze. Looks like that burger and fries had a negative effect on my FBG, all the carbs in the bun, fries, and ketchup sugar likely contributors, but it was grandchild's baseball team get together, so once in a blue moon. Getting finalized for the big dead Land Rover move to the engine transplant shop (91 miles or 147 Km away) this weekend, thank goodness...

Edited to change date from 29 to 28

FBG at 0825 was 5.3, food yesterday was;

Breakfast: the usual cheerios and milk, with the 250 mg metformin and black tea
Lunch: Restaurant submarine sandwich (meat combo) did NOT eat the bun, black coffee
Dinner: Giant shrimp stir fried in butter, chopped garlic and Harvey's Bristol Cream, w/stir fried mushrooms and snap peas, glass of red wine, forgot to take metformin
Snack: California sake, Kraaken rum w/diet Pepsi, 2 small pieces Winnipeg rye bread toasted w/butter, 10 corn chips (crisps?) w/Newman's salsa

Temp here at 0820 was 12C, skies clear. Well, my piggy enthusiasm for high carb snacks last night shows in my FBG numbers, but that rye bread toasted with butter was soooo good! Final touches to Mr. Land Rover, we are moving it tomorrow, will finally get to see what is really up with that thing when we get it up on a vehicle hoist. Then can see whether it is fix and keep, or fix and sell, would prefer to keep, but they are not the best for reliability, especially electrically...

I usually wake before my alarm clock. This time though, I was dragged from deep sleep, my heart was pounding, and I guess a good slug of glucose was shot into my bloodstream. I probably should have waited to test but I was curious.
