Hi all I have just done my first proper testing before and after a meal as only got my glucose machine today it was 6.9 before and 11.8 2 hours after is this normal
It was beef strips with veg and lentils and two wholemeal small cobsNo. Too high a jump. What did you eat?
I assume you're Type 2 because if you were Type 1 and that rise persisted for an hour or 2 longer, it would mean that you did not take enough insulin to match the carb count in what you ate.Hi all I have just done my first proper testing before and after a meal as only got my glucose machine today it was 6.9 before and 11.8 2 hours after is this normal
You don't have to get everything right overnight, sure took me 3 months to figure it out. Check this forum's website, Dr. jason Fung's The Diabetes Code book, dietdoctor.com and maybe https://www.diabetes.co.uk/forum/blog-entry/the-nutritional-thingy.2330/ for a little guidance. The beef strips with veg were excellent though. So you got it half right! Thanks still learning early days
