Meh. With the amount of tattoos I have, I can't really shy away from needles!
I'm inked a little my self. Upper thigh (box that needed ticking before I hit 40.) However...
I think it's psychological. I was given some by mistake and they don't feel any different. TBH I preferred watching the needle go in, so I knew I'd put the insulin in the right place.
Yep, back in the early days (1976.) I was encouraged to stick in the "barge poles." (Inch & a quarter? glass syringes.)As early as possible.
Dentists & HCPs, I mentally hold up score cards regarding the technique.. In my experince, I believe dentists have the edge..
I've seen a fair few DSNs shake like its thieir first time. (Lol, I wonder if they freak when I watch.) Some of the nurses when I went for the eye jabs back in the day couldn't even draw blood with a finger prick test. "Give yer meter here & Let me use my lancet...."
But then, I got a high pain threshold.
In other news regarding this heat & backing off the basal. My third hypo today at five to ten at a rehersal (with the other band.) when my Lantus should have been tailing off... (& no Novo on board.) What the hey! Sitting nicely now at 5.3.. Though weighing up a 10g snack to take me through the night?
