Unpredictable bgs

Anyone else seesawing ,never down just way up into teens and down again to 7-8 ,increasing insulin seems to make it worse so frustrating .Walking 3-5 miles a day and always busy but just cannot control it and after 20 ++ years on insulin this is the worst bgs yet AGGH

What sort of things are you eating?

Also, as well as the food you have, what is your BMI?

Eat low carb and bmi is 24 so anything to read into those figures ?

What type of insulin do you take?
If you have a slow acting one once or twice a day and a fast acting one when you eat, this is known as basal bolus.
It is usually recommended to start by making sure your basal (slow acting) dose is correct by basal testing (search for this as it mentioned a lot). Then the bolus dose can be adjusted.

If you are on mixed insulin or fixed doses, you may want to talk to your doctor about switching.

Another thought s whether you have lips (lumps of scar tissue where you have been injecting). This can affect your insulin absorption. It is usually recommended to use alternative injection sites.

Just bolus since endo took me off basal but really thinking that its lack of it thats maybe the problem .Still have some in fridge so will try a small dose tomorrow and see what that does
