Hi @Bostonjoe48 ,

Welcome to the forum.

I was diagnosed in 76. & just clocked up 51..

Is your issue a recent occurance? Though, there will be no doubt others will be along soon with personal experience & advice, I would suggest your first port of call would be with a doctor..

Best wishes.

I appreciate what you're saying, though I can't help with your own experience. (Other than offer good will & the hope someone else can come forward & help.)
T1 is what it is for me too. Then at the tail end of my 4th decade.. Macula odema..

But there are options out there, just don't let your age become a barrier.

Yup, got the T shirt. Actually had problems off and on before diagnosis, due to bp medication, but diabetes doesn't help. BUT, yes, Viagra does help. Don't be embarrassed, ask your doctor for it, (took me a while to build up to it) you can get a private prescription costs £5. It WORKS. GP was brilliant and supportive. Side effects are little stuffiness afterwards and a feint blue tinge to bright light. There is a 15-30 minute delay in effect which is awkward sometimes but the effects can work for a few hours. I need to add it doesn't give an uncontrolled erection - you have to be 'in the mood' as it were, so no awkward unwanted erection.

I have found that after using it a few times there is a improvement in natural erections, my GP said this is common. So overcome shyness and get some, there is no reason why we shouldn't still have a satisfying sex life. I'm 60 BTW.

Another wasted post then, if the OP can't be bothered to reply....

Annoys me, when you respond to an awkward question with some quite personal stuff (showing your bum in Marksies window!) that us men aren't good in handling due to the imagined sleight on our masculinity, to get no reply (thanks jjraak, at least you read it!). These issues are not easy to discuss, but a problem shared.... ah well, second post on this subject this week I have answered and been ignored basically. so maybe I won't bother in future.

Grumpy.

He hasn't logged into the forum for 6 days (if you click on his name a little window appears where you can see this), so he hasn't seen your reply. It may be he has forgotten he asked or where he asked, or has forgotten about this forum altogether...

I much appreciate your answer and agree with Satindoll it may help others in the future.

I didn't know you could do that, thanks Antje.

It's just that as a one-time manager in the NHS it narks me when people don't follow important stuff up - ask for help then don't act on it. I feel it is much the same as missed appointments, obviously not as important, but when people go out of their way to help then get ignored....just bad manners in my book. Such is interweb life, I'll live!

I've had my moan, back to business.
