Seen a recipe I like but it uses red wine.

Can we have red wine for low carb even if it’s cooked?

Butter? I’ve been using benecol the full fat version. But should I be using proper butter like anchor?

We only have butter in the house. Our personal preference is Kerrygold.

Oooh thank you. Salted or unsalted? No idea the difference other than the obvious

Salted here, except for baking, frying and a few other things, but if I could only have one type, it'd be salted.

Wolf Blass Eaglehawk Merlot goes down well with reheated pasta.

We buy Western Star salted butter.

I don't think there's a diabetic reason to go for salted or unsalted butter, unless you've been advised to cut down on salt, in which case unsalted is probably better.

I believe salt is implicated in causing high blood pressure, so personally I use unsalted butter and also use it very sparingly in cooking. A lot of processed food is overloaded in it, (just like sugar :)).

Kerrygold, salted.

I'll pass on the red wine as it used to be a migraine trigger in pre LCHF days!

I personally don't drink wine, red or white, but in cooking, it is very nice. I only buy a small bottle, I like Shy Pig and it does the job well.
